*noddles* The book's ending is a bit more uplifting but not by much. I don't mind sad...
I tend to like the sad endings as much as the happy. I really dislike the epically depressing that hits too close to home, though. I started to read The Year of Magical Thinking but I realized she was writing about her husband dying and her daughter in the hospital and firmly shut that book and returned it from whence it came. I like the depressing moments I read about to be on the fictional side.
I, however, am 98.9% sure that I'll never be a geisha so this one was safe for me XD
