Covering the Bases
Part Nine - Surprisingly Successful Steal
Gwendal - *from in the hallway/extremely, extremely pissed* "Open. The. Door!"
Yuuri - *squeaks/definitely hiding now/clings tighter to Wolfram*
Wolfram - *worried* "Yuuri..."
Yuuri - *uncovers his face to smile brightly at the blond* "Yes?"
Wolfram - "He's going to kill you!"
Yuuri - *bright smile turns into a bright, very panicked smile* "You think I don't know that??"
Gunter - *very desperate* "Your Majesty!!!"
Yuuri - *groans* "Fine! We're coming!!!" *slowly sits up/stalling for as long as he can*
Gwendal - *bellows* "Open the door or I will open it myself!”
Yuuri - *eyes widen/quickly kisses Wolfram on the lips - possibly a good-bye kiss - then jumps off the bed/stepping over the items on the floor and pauses at the door to compose himself, then cracks it open just slightly/tries to smile and not look panicked, though his face was probably very, very white* "Y-yes?" *curses silently at himself for being such a loser and stuttering*
Gwendal - *glares at him* "I told you not to make me wait." *pushes his way into the room, a little surprised to see its current state*
Yuuri - *winces/quickly getting out of his way* "W-well you see... something came up... and I wasn't able to go see you right away." *tries to smile and look as normal as possible/not very good at it*
Wolfram - *nervously sits up on the bed/quiet*
Gunter - *comes in as well, looking around/is more shocked to see Wolfram's jacket on the floor and his shirt halfway unbuttoned than he is about the mess/blanches* "Wolfram! First you destroy His Majesty's room and now you try to seduce him!! This is exactly why you must not sleep in here!! Stay in your own room, at least until the wedding!!"
Gwendal - *eye twitch*
Yuuri - *smile instantly disappears/quickly* "Wolfram didn't do anything. I was the one who destroyed the room."
Wolfram - *shocked* "That isn't true!!! Yuuri, what the hell are you doing?!"
Yuuri - *frowns at him over his shoulder* "Don't lie for me. It's perfectly okay." *turns back to the older men* "I was mad and ended up throwing everything around. Don't blame Wolfram for something I did."
Wolfram - "Yuuri!!"
Gunter - *frowns* "Don't be ridiculous. I just saw you out in the hallway. There's no way you could have done all this, Your Majesty. This mess has Wolfram's name written all over it. It certainly isn't the first time he's destroyed a room."
Gwendal - *another eye twitch*
Yuuri - *frowns at Gunter with narrowed eyes* "I told you that I was outside for punishment and that it was dangerous. I never said anything about Wolfram having to do with it. And why isn't it possible for me to destroy a room?"
Gunter - "Well, that's... I... but..." *doesn't know what to say*
Wolfram - *growing angry again* "Yuuri, stop it!! I can take responsibility for my actions!!"
Yuuri - *frowns at Wolfram* "And what would that be? Blaming yourself for the mess because you weren't able to stop me?"
Wolfram - "Yuuri, knock it off!! I made the mess!! I was angry and couldn't control myself, so I threw a tantrum like a pathetic child!!"
Yuuri - *ignores him/turns to Gunter* "Who would you believe? Me or Wolfram?" *pauses* "I take full responsibility. And that's the end of the conversation on the mess. What other business are you here to discuss?"
Gunter - *sputters* "But, Your Majesty... regardless of what you say on the matter, I-"
Gwendal - *interrupts him* "Gunter..."
Gunter - *looks at him* "Yes?"
Gwendal - *glares at him* "Shut up." *turns his glare back to Yuuri*
Yuuri - *catches the glare from Gwendal and gulps/stands up straighter* "Yes?"
Gwendal - *is silent for a long, long time/his glare never eases and his eye twitches a few more times as well/finally...* "You will need to pick a date, a time, and you must draw up a guest list. We can house two hundred guests within the palace; the remained must find suitable lodgings within the capital. We can safely fit a total of three hundred people within the gardens and the ball room at one time."
Yuuri - *jaw drops at him/completely speechless*
Gwendal - "You will not ignore your responsibilities in order to take care of the planning; if you are unable to handle both then Wolfram will handle everything concerning the wedding and you will sit in the office until your paperwork is complete. You will be fitted for a new uniform, you will perfect your dancing - it would not look good if the king stumbled around like a fool on his wedding day. You will also inform the cooks of what kind of food you would prefer to eat during the reception, so that they may begin preparing."
Yuuri - *continues to stare in complete shock/finally glances over to Wolfram to see his reaction*
Wolfram - *has no idea what to say, and just stares dumbly at his older brother*
Gwendal - *still glaring* "You must choose a suitable location for your honeymoon, where you may stay for one month’s time, and you must delegate your duties to your advisors so that things may be taken care of in your absence. For now you will be allowed to continue sharing a room, but if I feel it wise to separate you, I will do so immediately. And finally..." *his glare darkens* "You may take today off, but you will be up and in the office by sunrise tomorrow, where I intend to keep you until midnight."
Yuuri - *nearly chokes* "R-really??"
Gwendal - "Do not make me regret my show of compassion."
Gunter - *gapes*
Yuuri - *mouth still open/squeaks stupidly* "No paperwork???"
Gwendal - *merely frowns at him, before turning to head back for the door* "Now if you'll excuse me, I have work to take care of." *stops once he arrives at the door/glances over his shoulder at Yuuri with what just might be his most dangerous glares yet*
Yuuri - *finally shuts his mouth to beam blissfully at Gwendal/excited about no paperwork, the wedding, and the fact that he wasn't going to be killed... yet...* "Thank you! I promise I'll work hard tomorrow! You don't have to worry about a thing!"
Gwendal - *nods* "One more thing..." *long, threatening pause* "If a child is conceived before the wedding..." *growls darkly* "I will kill you."
Gunter - "Gwendal!"
Yuuri - *chokes again/holds up his hands in defense* "I promise! Don't worry!"
Gwendal - *nods one more time, then leaves*
Gunter - *looks between both Yuuri and Wolfram, shocked, and eventually scampers out to follow him*
Wolfram - *sits extremely still on the bed, his mouth hanging open/silent*
Yuuri - *blinks after them/feeling a little dizzy/finally mumbles after a long moment* "Well... That was... unexpected..."
Wolfram - *nods dumbly* "Uh huh..."
Yuuri - *still really quiet/glances over at Wolfram* ".... You okay?"
Wolfram - *still speechless* "Uh huh..."
Yuuri - *slowly stumbles his way over to the bed, sitting down on the edge before he gets too dizzy with shock*
Wolfram - *flops back down onto his back, staring blankly at the canopy* "You... you don't have to work..." *isn't really paying attention to what he's saying, just trying to make sense of everything/he'd expected more blood and less talking*
Yuuri - *slowly shakes his head/trying to understand exactly what had happened/definitely surprised he was still breathing/mumbles* "I guess not..."
Wolfram - *falls silent again*
Yuuri - *silent too*
Wolfram - *eventually begins to return to his senses* "Why... why did you try to take the blame for me?"
Yuuri - *blinks a bit out of his shock/glancing up at him/flushing a little* "Well... We're in this together, aren't we?"
Wolfram - "I suppose..."
Yuuri - *frowns at himself* "And it was my fault you were upset..."
Wolfram - "Not really...
Yuuri - *shakes his head* "No.... I should have.... I...." *doesn't really know what to say*
Wolfram - *slowly sits up again, looking at him/tilts his head to the side as if he's thinking about something* "... Yuuri...?"
Yuuri - *blinks/looking over at him* "... yeah?"
Wolfram - *quickly moves foreword and grabs onto his jacket, jerking him towards him and leaning so their faces are close together* "Kiss me."
Yuuri - *startled/blinks dumbly* "W-what?"
Wolfram - "You heard me."
Yuuri - *stares at him, but then wraps his arms around him, closing his eyes, pressing his lips against Wolfram's*
Wolfram - *circles his arms around his neck, leaning into the kiss while at the same time falling back so that he's laying down once more, pulling Yuuri on top of him*
Yuuri - *still a little startled/deepens the kiss, moving his hands to stop himself from accidentally smothering the blond with his weight*
Wolfram - *like the night before, he puts all of his pent up energy into it, feeling his earlier frustrations wash away/slides his hand up and down Yuuri's back before tightly gripping to his shoulders*
Yuuri - *slowly becoming more comfortable/leans deeper into him, pressing his chest against the blond's/absentmindedly slides one hand down along his waist, moving the other up to tangle in his hair*
Wolfram - *flushes slightly as he makes one of those odd little whining noises again, but doesn't let his embarrassment stop him/continues*
Yuuri - *continues until it was near impossible to breathe, reluctantly pulling away/still holding tightly to the blond*
Wolfram - *pants for a bit/stares up at the canopy as he catches his breath, thinking of something very seriously* "...Yuuri...?"
Yuuri - *still difficult to breathe/stares down at him* "... Yeah...?"
Wolfram - *still blankly staring up, breathing heavily* "I'm beginning to think that... having a large, grand wedding isn't... such a good idea, after all..."
Yuuri - *blinks at him/confused* "You... don't think so...?"
Wolfram - *turns his gaze back to him* "You want to... leave me to deal with my mother and Gunter... and put up with all their crap as we... plan the whole thing...?"
Yuuri - *stares at him/not really understanding* "W-what...? Of course I don't.... I'll help too...."
Wolfram - "You'll be... busy with work. No matter how hard you try to get all of your paperwork done every day... I'll still be left to deal with most of the planning..." *pauses, still lightly panting* "At first, I didn't mind... but now..."
Yuuri - *blinks at him/frowning a little at the idea of leaving Wolfram to plan most everything by himself/really confused* "I... I don't... understand..."
Wolfram - "I... I always wanted a big wedding... I wanted everyone to see… I... but now... I think about it and it seems so foolish... it shouldn't matter how or where, or how many people are there..."
Yuuri - *still staring/thinks he's starting to understand but isn't sure* "But... I can only imagine.... how you've dreamed of this.... for so long...."
Wolfram - "I have dreamed of it, but I... I don't care anymore." *shakes his head* "After... after I stopped throwing things around, when I was laying here before you came in... I was thinking about it a lot..."
Yuuri - *watching him/curious/still a bit upset he wasn't there the entire time* "... What were you thinking?"
Wolfram - "I love you... I've always loved you... and that's the most important thing, isn't it? I wanted the spring wedding, I really did; I wanted it so badly it hurt, but that was when I wasn't sure how you felt. It was a fantasy, my dream. I thought of it now and then to make me feel more hopeful about our engagement... thinking about how nice it would be..."
Yuuri - *isn't too sure what to tell him* "Wolfram.... "
Wolfram - *shakes his head* "But I don't care about that anymore. I just want to marry you, any time, anywhere."
Yuuri - *raises an eyebrow* "You're suggesting we run away and elope?"
Wolfram - *smiles at him, staring into his eyes/nods* "Yes."
Yuuri - *staring right back, though attempting to look even deeper* "You're sure?"
Wolfram - *nods again/his smile grows wider* "Yes, Yuuri. Let's elope."
Yuuri - *forces his smile back into a pout* "If we must."
Wolfram - *his smile falls a little* "You... you don't want to?"
Yuuri - *trying really hard not to smile* "Well, I was kinda hoping for some of those sandwiches you were talking about... and showing you off to everyone, of course."
Wolfram - *gapes at him/doesn't know what to say* "But... you mentioned it before... so I assumed..."
Yuuri - *caves in and lets his smile break through* "But I guess having you is better than any sandwich."
Wolfram - *continues to gape/silent*
Yuuri - *grins smugly/very amused/leans down to lick along his jaw, up to his cheek* "You taste better than any sandwich, anyway."
Wolfram - *gasps and squirms a bit/surprised* "Yuuri!!"
Yuuri - *blinks at him innocently* "What?" *pauses, then gasps/teasing* "Oh... You really were serious about me not being allowed to touch or kiss you...?"
Wolfram - *flushes, frowning at him* "If I was serious I wouldn't have let you kiss me a minute ago!"
Yuuri - *still grinning* "Okay, then.... I'm allowed to kiss you?"
Wolfram - "Yes, but... wait..." *lifts a hand up to keep him away slightly* "Are we really going to...?"
Yuuri - *blinks at him* "If that's what you want..." *pauses* "Though... That means I'll have to work still... And I'm not too sure how happy Gwendal would be about it... Although, he's not very happy about anything to begin with..."
Wolfram - *a little timid* "When...?"
Yuuri - *grins/trying to finish for him* "When.... do we want to elope?"
Wolfram - *nods*
Yuuri - *pretends to think* "Well... Seeing as it's in the dead of winter... with no chance of leaving the castle unnoticed... And we'll probably be stranded all alone in some remote little cabin in the woods for the rest of the season with nothing but our own body heat to keep us warm... Now?" *grin*
Wolfram - *stares at him quietly for a second, before he eventually grins back brightly, nodding enthusiastically* "Now!"
Yuuri - *laughs/starts to pull away more* "All right, start packing!"
Wolfram - *laughs happily, sitting up a bit as he does so/raising an eyebrow, teasing* "You're going to make me pack all by myself?"
Yuuri - *smiles at him* "Of course not! Although, I'll probably have to slip a note into the office about how Gwendal needs to be in charge until we get back..."
Wolfram - *giggles* "You don't think he'll take the hint when he realizes we've gone missing?"
Yuuri - *fakes a frown, pretending to think again* "He probably won't be very happy with me..."
Wolfram - *laughs at him again, still teasing* "Well, according to you, we'll be stuck in an obscure little cabin for the rest of the winter, so he'll have a few months to cool off."
Yuuri - *smiles as well* "That's true..." *nods for a moment, then blinks/teasing* "Wait... alone? With you? The rest of winter? No paperwork?"
Wolfram - *grins more* "No paperwork."
Yuuri - *promptly jumps off the bed* "What are we waiting for?!" *pauses/seeing the mess* "Uh... Maybe I should pack..."
Wolfram - *looks at him, confused, sitting up the rest of the way in the bed* "I can help."
Yuuri - *frowns at him* "You're not wearing any shoes... I don't want to have Gisela come in again to ask questions..."
Wolfram - *rolls his eyes* "Then get me some shoes, you wimp."
Yuuri - *pouts* "I'm not a wimp..." *wanders around the room for a bit in search of Wolfram's shoes/finds them and brings them over, making sure to shake them of any glass that might be in it* "Jeez... Maybe it was better that I wasn't around to hear everything..."
Wolfram - *looks away, bashful* "... sorry..."
Yuuri - *smiles at him* "Don't worry about it. It's my fault, remember? Now are you going to help me or not?" *pauses, still teasing* "Unless you've changed your mind....?"
Wolfram - *playful* "Well... now that you mention it..." *smiles brightly at him again* "Of course I haven't changed my mind." *takes his shoes from him and shoves them on, promptly jumping off of the bed*
Yuuri - *grins, turning to stare at the mess again/sweatdrop* "Where do we start?"
Wolfram - "We'll need clothes, of course." *looks out one of the windows, noting the snow on the ground and the gray clouds in the sky* "Warms ones."
Yuuri - *nods/starts to search the clothes on the floor, picking up and shaking off a couple large jackets*
Wolfram - *begins to do the same, searching through their closets for packs to stuff them into/glances over his shoulder at Yuuri* "How far should we travel?"
Yuuri - *blinks at him* "Uhhh... Just far enough so that Gwendal can't find me easily... "
Wolfram - *sighs* "A few days, then." *turns back around to begin shoving clothes into a couple of bags* “We'll have to find a town with some sort of a church or temple. Any of the court houses will refuse to marry us, knowing who you are, but a priest won't turn us away."
Yuuri - *grumbles* "It really sucks being king, sometimes..." *snatches up several socks off the floor to throw them in a bag*
Wolfram - *laughs softly, searching for his thick winter jacket* "Pack anything of value. We can trade it for money so we don't have to try to sneak into the kitchens and steal food."
Yuuri - *nods/starts digging through the piles for things to trade*
Greta - *from the other side of the door* "I can help, you know." *pushes the door slowly open/smile covering her entire face* "How much food do you need?"
Wolfram - *started/turns to stare at her with wide eyes* "Greta... what... how long have you been eavesdropping?!"
Greta - "Long enough." *smiles even brighter*
Wolfram - *narrows his eyes slightly, giving her a stern look* "That's not a good answer."
Yuuri - *in complete shock again*
Greta - *rolls her eyes* "I just came to see if you two were okay. I heard from the maids that there was a bit of trouble in here earlier. And well... " *clasps her hands together* "I just wanted to know if I could help in any way." *quickly* "And I won't tell a soul!"
Wolfram - *stares at her for a while longer, wondering if he should really accept her help/doesn't want to burden her with anything or get her into trouble with her uncle/eventually smiles at her serenely* "Can you get us enough food for today? We won't be able to carry too much, so we'll still have to end up pawning things off and buying some along the way."
Greta - *nods happily* "Sure! How many horses will you need? Two? Or just one?" *happy smirk*
Yuuri - *flushes a little* "G-Greta!" *still at a loss/hasn't even thrown the last pair of socks in his hand into the bag*
Wolfram - *thinks for a minutes* "Taking both of our horses would be more noticeable, but I don't know if one could handle both of us and a few bags for hours on end. We'll have to ride a long time today if we want to get far enough away to not be caught right away."
Greta - *holds up her hands* "Say no more. Two horses and food for at least a day. I'm on it!"
Wolfram - *smiles at her lovingly* "Thank you, Greta."
Greta - *smiles* "I guess I should tell the maids who are coming up the hall right now to go do something else, right?"
Yuuri - *slight panic* "Please!"
Greta - "On it!" *skips back to the door*
Wolfram - *laughs lightly* "I think she's excited."
Yuuri - *frowns a little, watching Greta leave and shut the door behind her* "A little too excited..."
Wolfram - "At least we know she has nothing against it."
Yuuri - *nods* "True... " *shoves the socks into the bag* "What else?"
Wolfram - "Uhhh..." *looks around and thinks for a moment longer, snatching up a pair of gloves* "Maybe we should change into something warmer before we actually leave?"
Yuuri - *nods again* "Good idea..." *goes to dig for clothes to wear*
Wolfram - *looks for thicker clothes as well, picking up one of his nightgowns on the way and shoving it into a bag that's almost completely stuffed* "You know, instead of your cabin idea..." *turns to give him a coy smile* "There's this little abandoned castle that I know of, nestled deep in the woods..."
Yuuri - *looks up quickly/eyes wide* "Really??" *thoughtful* "We won't be found there, would we?"
Wolfram - *shakes his head* "It hasn't been used in years. As long as we stock up on food and firewood, we should be fine." *his smile widens, playful* "So, if you'd like, we can hide out there... alone... together... happily married..."
Yuuri - *thinks about what he said for a moment, then nods his head enthusiastically*
Wolfram - "Okay, then." *turns back to the clothing search/satisfied* "Since we have a plan... time to change." *has a neat little pile of warmer winter clothes on the bed/begins to remove his uniform shirt to switch clothing*
Yuuri - *watches him for a moment, then moves up behind him, catching him around the waist/burying his face into the blond's hair* "I love you...."
Wolfram - *jumps a bit/surprised/but instantly relaxes* "I love you, too." *sighs, smiling* "But if you don't let me change someone's bound to come by and find us out before we can leave."
Yuuri - *groans at the thought of being caught/quickly leans down to kiss his neck before letting go* "Fine... I'll change too..." *pulls off his jacket and shirt to get something warmer on*
Wolfram - *watches him out of the corner of his eye, slipping on his new set of clothes at the same time*
Yuuri - *grumbles under his breath about all the paperwork he was NOT going to miss/pulling on some clothes Wolfram had placed on the bed*
Wolfram - *shakes his head and laughs at him, pulling on his thick winter jacket once he's got his clothes on, sliding his gloves onto his hands*
Yuuri - *finished getting dressed and pulls on a hat that was long enough to cover his hair* "Hopefully there won't be too much trouble... It's the middle of winter, after all..."
Wolfram - "I think getting caught is our main concern. Once they find out we're gone, I'm sure Conrart and Yozak will be out looking for us." *finds a warm cloak and tosses it at Yuuri* "Wear that, too." *finds one for himself as well*
Yuuri - *groans again* "Great... Just great... Stupid Conrad..." *grumbles and pulls on the cloak*
Wolfram - *smiles at him again* "Even if he does find us, I don't think he'll drag us back." *almost cringes at the thought of defending the man, or at the thought of counting on him to understand, for that matter*
Yuuri - "Hmph... They'd better not drag us back... Not until we're good and ready to go back at least..."
Wolfram - *laughs at him once more* "If he and Yozak do find us, I guarantee they'll remain unseen, and will only drag us back if you're in danger or if something important comes up."
Yuuri - *stares at him* "That's not creepy at all..."
Wolfram - "They won't be spying! Just... making sure nothing happens to you. You're the king, Yuuri. If something should happen, you'd need some sort of protection, and I can only do so much."
Yuuri - *frowns at him* "I'll be fine... As long as nothing happens to you...." *forces one of the bags closed, lifting it to swing over his shoulder*
Wolfram - "Something could happen, and you know it, especially if you're discovered by anyone else. We're taking a big chance by doing this, Yuuri. As much as I wish I could, and can't protect you from everything." *grins at him then* "Plus, by the time we do feel like coming back here, I fully intend to be carrying our first child, and you wouldn't want me to overexert myself, would you? It might be a good thing to have them lurking around."
Yuuri - *blushes, but nods* "I... suppose...."
Wolfram - *blushes also, but remains grinning/teases him* "What are you suddenly so nervous about, Your Majesty?"
Yuuri - *quickly* "Of getting caught before we even get out of the castle!" *smiles at him then* "Are you ready?"
Wolfram - "Then why the flushed face?" *picks up one of the bags anyway, smiling the whole while* "Ready when you are."
Yuuri - *shrugs* "It happens..." *grins* "Now we just have to get past all the guards and maids and Gwendal...." *frowns at the last*
Wolfram - "Uhhh..." *thinking, suddenly realizing they don't have much of a plan, after all* "That might be a little difficult..."
Greta - *pokes in through the door* "I can help there too, you know..."
Yuuri - *jumps lightly/expecting it to be Gwendal* "What... How long this time?"
Greta - *smiles* "Long enough."
Wolfram - *frowns just slightly* "As helpful as it's become this time around, it isn't proper for a young lady to eavesdrop on her parents."
Greta - *still smiling brightly* "And eloping is proper?"
Wolfram - *opens his mouth to protest, but immediately shuts it, knowing he can't really argue with that*
Yuuri - *nods/crossing his arms over his chest/glances knowingly at Wolfram* "She has a point, you know..."
Wolfram - *grumbles* "It was originally your idea..."
Greta - *giggles* "The horses are ready in the stable. They're still in their stalls so no one has noticed. I've already packed each of their side bags with enough food for a few days. And I've 'accidentally' knocked over a.... few things here and there to keep the maids and guards busy."
Yuuri - *raises an eyebrow* "The guards too?"
Greta - *grins* "Well... I kinda let... a few animals in the castle..."
Wolfram - *eyes widen* "Greta!"
Greta - *innocently* "What?"
Wolfram - "What kind of animals?!"
Greta - *pretends to think* "Ummmm..... Can't really remember..." *bright smile* "But they all looked so cold out in the snow! I just had to let them all in!"
Yuuri - "I thought you said only a few....?"
Greta - "Did I?"
Wolfram - "Where do you learn these sorts of things...?"
Greta - *smiles sweetly* "Are you going to elope or not?"
Wolfram - "Well... yes..."
Greta - *giggles and heads back out the door* "I'll walk ahead and make sure no one's coming."
Yuuri - *to Wolfram* "I think she gets it from your side of the family..."
Wolfram - "I..." *doesn't really know what to say, still gaping*
Yuuri - *leans down to kiss him* "So.... you're not changing your mind, now, are you?"
Wolfram - *kisses him back, smiling as he pulls away* "Of course not. Why? Are you?"
Yuuri - *shakes his head* "Of course not!"
Greta - *getting impatient/peeks back in* "You coming or not??"
Wolfram - "Yes. Coming, coming." *grabs onto Yuuri's hand and starts to drag him out of the room, wincing at the crunching of glass*
Yuuri - *grins, allowing himself to be dragged*
Greta - *rolls her eyes and skips off down the hall, motioning to them they were safe to move, then skips off down the next turn*
Wolfram - *follows after her, his hand still grasping onto Yuuri's, eyes scanning the halls to make sure no one was around*
Greta - *continues leading them, telling them to fall back a couple times to take another route, especially at hearing the sound of low, angry growls and panicked guards*
Wolfram - *slightly worried, but does as Greta suggests, trusting his little girl to get them out of there alive*
Yuuri - *whispers to Wolfram as they follow the girl* "Your family, I tell you..."
Greta - *finally makes it out of one of the kitchen doors into the snow, the stables just in sight/smiling brightly as ever/blocking the direct view of several tracks of large paw prints in the snow* "Is this good enough for you?"
Wolfram - *really, really worried* "Yes, but... before we leave... exactly what did you let into the castle?"
Greta - *shrugs/smiling* "Does it matter?"
Wolfram - *warningly* "Greta..."
Greta - *looks up at the sound of talking down the hall* "Uh oh... Sounds like someone's coming. You two going or not?" *grins/very amused and happy*
Wolfram - "Greta..." *doesn't want to get caught, but... concerned about her tactics*
Greta - *jumps up to hug both Wolfram and Yuuri, kissing them on their cheeks* "Behave yourselves!"
Wolfram - *sputters* "What's that supposed to mean?!"
Greta - *shrugs/pushing them out the door/still smiling* "Have fun, too!"
Yuuri - *gawks at her, then at Wolfram* ".... Well?"
Wolfram - *is silent, but turns to stare at Greta* "Don't do anything bad while we're gone."
Greta - *smiles at both of them* "Wouldn't dream of it!" *shoos them to go*
Yuuri - *down at Wolfram* "She gets her charm from me..."
Wolfram - *glares at him* "And what charm do you have?"
Yuuri - *leans to kiss him*
Greta - *giggles*
Wolfram - *kisses him back, but pulls away quickly, frowning just slightly* "Not in front of Greta..."
Yuuri - *grins* "You like it."
Greta - *nods/smiling*
Wolfram - *flushes* "Whatever. Let's go." *tugs on Yuuri's hand, but turns to give Greta one last warning* "Be good. Gwendal's going to be angry when he finds out we're gone, so don't do anything to make him angrier. And don't spend all of your time with Anissina... or your grandmother..."
Greta - *giggles at them and shuts the door, dashing off to distract whoever was coming*
Yuuri - *laughs and starts to pull Wolfram towards the stables* "Should we make a run for it?"
Wolfram - *his frown turns into a smile, and his heart starts beating a little faster* "We're really going to do this?"
Yuuri - *pretends to think* "Unless you're having second thoughts."
Wolfram - *shakes his head* "No."
Yuuri - *smiles* "Then come on." *starts to make a run for the stables as best he could while holding onto their bag and not pulling Wolfram's hand too hard*
Wolfram - *follows him/laughs lightly at the utter insanity of everything/stumbles just a little in the snow but manages to stay up right and keep up with Yuuri*
Yuuri - *hurries up to the stable doors, stopping to catch his breath/glances worriedly at Wolfram* "You okay?"
Wolfram - *a little out of breath as well/nods* "Yeah. I'm fine." *smirks* Don't tell me you're tired already, old man. We have a lot of riding ahead of us. You think you can handle it?"
Yuuri - *frowns playfully at him* "Me? Tired? Ha! Of course I can handle it! You sure you're not too young to be running off with me?"
Wolfram - *bats his eyelashes at him/pouting* "Am I too young for you, Your Majesty? Would you prefer an older bride?"
Yuuri - *cringes* "Someone else instead of you? Never!"
Wolfram - *laughs* "Alright, then. Lead the way."
Yuuri - *smiles/cautiously pushes open the door to make sure the coast was clear, then pulls Wolfram in, in front of him, shutting the door carefully behind them/heads over to their horses*
Wolfram - *stops suddenly* "You're really, really sure about this? You won't regret it?"
Yuuri - *stops as well/staring back at him/confused* "Do.... Are you thinking you'll regret this?"
Wolfram - *shakes his head* "No! I just want to make sure you won't. This is all really sudden and... I don't know if this is just another one of those 'in the moment' things or not."
Yuuri - *stares at him for a moment/slowly* "You know.... So many times I've thought that doing something I really wanted to do would be a horrible mistake... I was afraid of how I felt and it took me so long to realize... I know I have responsibilities.... and I'm supposed to make sure all the stupid documents are signed... And I know I'm not supposed to be thinking about myself.... Whenever I get 'in the moment' it's exciting, dangerous, and a little fuzzy around the edges... I don't think at all and... just go with what I feel.... But...." *smiles at him* "I have been thinking about this... It's still exciting and dangerous... but I've never been so sure of anything before. I want you, now and forever... And even though I know I already have you.... I want to let the rest of the world know as well... I love you and I want to be with you for forever."
Wolfram - *nearly melts completely/smiles up at him* "I love you, too. And I would have waited for you for forever if I had to." *pounces to hug him tightly*
Yuuri - *laughs at him, hugging him tightly back* "So are we going to do this, or not?" *leans down to kiss him*
Wolfram - *presses into the kiss, a little disappointed that he has to hug him through multiple layers of clothes because, really, he likes it much better when he can feel Yuuri's heart... and stare at his chest, but that's neither here nor there/pulls back after a few moments* "Okay. I'm ready."
Yuuri - *grins/makes his way over to his horse and quickly moves the bag off his shoulder to secure behind the saddle/glancing over at Wolfram* "Do you need help?"
Wolfram - *sticks his tongue out* "Does it look like I need help?"
Yuuri - *shrugs/grins* "I dunno... Jeez... Greta wasn't kidding about the food..." *had peeked into the bags*
Wolfram - *smirks* "At least she's resourceful, unlike someone I know." *moves to secure bag as well, lightly petting his own horse*
Yuuri - *blinks/teasing* "Who would that be?" *moves to open the stall, leading the horse out towards the stable doors*
Wolfram - *follows Yuuri's example and begins leading his horse out* "You, you wimp."
Yuuri - *pouts teasingly* "Good thing I have you then, huh?" *peeks out the door to make sure no one was around*
Wolfram - "Yeah. Good thing." *pauses* "You don't see anyone, do you?"
Yuuri - *waits a moment, then shakes his head* "No... I think we're good... Although..." *raises an eyebrow at him* "I don't really recognize those paw prints... What did Greta let into the castle??"
Wolfram - *looks around him to get a look at them* "I have no idea, and I don't think I want to know. She had better not get into trouble for this, or she'll be in even more trouble when I get home."
Yuuri - *cringes/teasing* "Scary..."
Wolfram - *gives him an innocent look* "Who? Little ol' me?"
Yuuri - *nods quickly, then cracks a grin* "All right... Let's do this..." *moves to mount his horse* "I say the quicker we're out of here, the less likely we'll be seen."
Wolfram - "For once, you have an amazingly wonderful idea." *climbs up into the saddle, confidently gripping the reins*
Yuuri - *pretends to be extremely proud* "Aren't you glad you're marrying me?"
Wolfram - *has to try very hard not to joke about marrying him for the money, remembering what happened the last time he did that/smiles at him instead* "Sure beats marrying some other schmuck."
Yuuri - *mounted and ready/still trying to be cautious until it was safe to actually make a run for it/slowly pushes the stable door open and leads his horse out, waiting for Wolfram to do the same before reaching out to shut the doors again - wouldn't want the horses to freeze, ya know!* "You lead, I'll follow..." *doesn't want to admit that he has no idea where anything is... especially in the snow*
Wolfram - "Uhhh..." *looks around, slightly nervous/hadn't really come up with much of a plan for this part of their little adventure, but doesn't want to admit it* "We... we should probably take the back ways... just so someone doesn't spot us on the main roads..."
Yuuri - *nods at him/assuming he had a plan* "Okay, then..."
Wolfram - *doesn't move just yet/pretends like he's looking around and deciding on the best way to go* "Well... north, south, east, or west?"
Yuuri - *blinks at him/curious* "Well... do you have an idea of what town would marry us?"
Wolfram - "Er..." *thinks on it for a minute* "Like I said... any town with a temple or church of some kind... but we'd have to get far enough away not to get caught... but... stay away from the human lands..."
Yuuri - *really has no idea where to go/hoping Wolfram knew* "Okay... Well... Why don't we get out of the capital first, then decide where to go from there?"
Wolfram - "Ummm... we might want to go through the back and try to skirt around the capital... we wouldn't want to be recognized by any of the townspeople..."
Yuuri - *opens his mouth, then closes it/good point* "Ah... Well... that works too...."
Wolfram - *still looking around* "So..."
Yuuri - *nervous smile* "So..."
Wolfram - *really doesn't want to admit that he has no idea what he's doing/directs his horse towards the back of the castle, making sure to look out for anyone who may spot them* "Okay then..."
Yuuri - *directs his horse to follow Wolfram around the back/quickly notices how his horse was acting a bit nervous as it shook his head, whining* "Uhh...." *insert a few low growls from the direction they just came from here* "W-Wolfram? ... I think the guards got whatever Greta let into the castle out..."
Wolfram - *now very, very worried/does not want to turn around to see what is it, but also doesn't want to admit that he's suddenly a little afraid* "Then... maybe we should... hurry?" *extremely nervous smile*
Yuuri - *doesn't really want to know what kind of animal made his the horses so frightful/nods* "I think that would be a wonderful idea..."
Wolfram - "Then... follow me... I guess..." *feels very stupid for not knowing what the heck to do, and vaguely wonders why he's so out of it today/kicks his horse into action and begins leading Yuuri to their desired exit*
Yuuri - *follows quickly at a gallop, slowing down once they got near the outer walls/hasn't really been around the back all that much and is of even less help* "You know where we're going?'
Wolfram - *doesn't look at him/flinches at his question* "Ummm... maybe...?"
Yuuri - *sweatdrops/nervous smile* "You're not sure??" *doesn't mean to sound so worried*
Wolfram - "Well... I tried to run away once when I was little, and discovered a little gate out back... but... it's sort of... guarded. So I just used to climb the walls..."
Yuuri - *gawks at him* "Guarded??"
Wolfram - *winces* "Yes...?"
Yuuri - *slumps a little* "So....?"
Wolfram - "So..." *still does not want to admit he has no idea what to do/continues leading Yuuri around the back of the castle, close to the wall/keeps and eye out for that gate and those guards*
Greta - *gallops up behind them on her horse/smiling like always* "I knew you two wouldn't have any idea what to do."
Yuuri - *gawks/startled/mumbles* "Saving the day again...?"
Wolfram - *flushes/frustrated with himself* "It's not like I've ever eloped before!!" *looks to Greta* "I'm assuming my bright and beautiful daughter has another plan?"
Greta - *bats her eyelashes at him/smiling even brighter* "Of course I do!"
Yuuri - "..... Which is...?"
Greta - *smiles innocently* "Well... There's another ‘exit’... But it hasn't been used in years... Or so people think."
Wolfram - "Greta..." *gives her another 'I'm your father so you should listen to me and do what I say' look* "And how is it that you know of this?"
Greta - *shrugs* "I was bored one day and stumbled on it... It's an old crack in the wall that hasn't been repaired, but both sides are so thick with trees it's not really easy to find. And a horse can just barely fit through." *innocent*
Yuuri - *raises his eyebrow/not too happy with her finding flaws in the castle's defense by herself... especially when she hasn't mentioned anything about it* "Greta? .... Have you been leaving on your own?"
Greta - *smiles* "You two gonna elope or not?"
Wolfram - *his stern look continues/doesn't know whether he should be angry that she's avoiding the question or proud of her for not getting caught when he... well, he'd never had very good experiences with sneaking out before* "Yes, but you have to promise you'll tell someone about this once we leave. What if an intruder found it and made his way into the castle?"
Greta - *smiles at him* "I have one of Anissina's inventions guarding it. Come on, this way!" *turns her horse around to follow the wall back around the way they had come from* "When you get out I'll ride around for a bit to cover the tracks... make it less likely for anyone to notice more than one trail."
Wolfram - *gawks at her* "How often do you sneak out?" *a little unsettled that he hadn't thought of all this beforehand, since most of what she was suggesting they do was more or less common sense*
Yuuri - *raises an eyebrow at Wolfram* "She's your daughter..." *turns his horse to follow/still a bit curious as to what she's been doing, but relieved they wouldn't have to pass any guards*
Greta - *glances over her shoulder at them* "Well... I guess you won't have to worry about that until you get back, right?" *heads towards a place around the wall where the trees are much larger and older*
Wolfram - *follows, grumbling under his breath about how he'd never succeeded in sneaking out when he was younger*
Greta - *makes it past the trees so they could no longer see the castle/holds up her hand to motion them to stop, then rides her own horse up next to a large tree/carefully stands up on the horse's back to reach something hidden in a hole in the tree, then sits back down/doesn't move for a moment, then a low buzzing could be heard for a few seconds before disappearing as well/waits a little longer then turns to smile at them* "It's just up ahead. I'll reset the trap after you leave." *moves her horse out of the way for her fathers to pass*
Wolfram - *sputters, still gawking at her, but moves to go foreword* "You're not meeting boys in town, are you?"
Greta - *doesn't say anything, just smiles innocently*
Yuuri - *frowns at her, but is somewhat proud that she's so clever* "You be good, okay?"
Greta - *nods* "Don't worry about a thing!"
Wolfram - *figures that her silence is an affirmative answer* "Don't let them take advantage of you, Greta. Men are pigs."
Greta - *giggles* "I know. I've been told. Now hurry up so I can distract everyone!"
Wolfram - *gives her one last look, then shakes his head and begins making his way through, hoping that Yuuri's smart enough to follow/calls behind to Greta* "You'll be in big trouble once we get home!"
Yuuri - *does follow/shaking his head a bit, still torn between emotions*
Greta - *giggles again* "I love you! Be careful!" *after they pass through the crack she stands up to shake the tree, knocking fresh snow loose to help cover the tracks, then reaches back up to fiddle with whatever was in the hole*
Wolfram - *calls back* "Love you, too!" *finally makes his way through Greta's little escape route, free of the castle walls/there're still a few little village houses, but no where near the amount that have been built passed the front gate/begins leading Yuuri towards the less used roads... or what he assumes are the less used roads; everything's sort of covered in a nice layer of snow*
Yuuri - *still shaking his head as he follows Wolfram, kinda wondering just what would happen if someone tried going back through the crack without Greta being there/moves his horse up to trot next to Wolfram's* ".... Where from here?"
Wolfram - *glances at him and hopes he successfully managed to clear the slightly nervous look off of his face/covers it with a small smile* "Wherever you want."
Yuuri - *frowns worriedly at him* "Are you okay?"
Wolfram - *nods quickly/squeaks* "Yes!" *clears his throat* "I'm fine."
Yuuri - *raises an eyebrow* ".... If you want to take a break, just say so..." *glances up to make sure they were still following the road through the snow/kinda hard to tell what's road and what's not* "At least it doesn't look like many people will be out and about in this weather..."
Wolfram - *nods again, this time in agreement* "Yeah... and I'm fine. We haven't even left the view of the castle yet. We shouldn't stop for another few hours."
Yuuri - *scowls over his shoulder at the castle/turns to smile at the blond* "Should we get out of here, then?"
Wolfram - *another nod* "Sure." *smirks at him* "See if you can keep up, old man!" *kicks his horse into a swift gallop*
Yuuri - *pouts playfully at him and kicks his horse into a gallop as well* "Oh... Playing it like that, huh?"
Wolfram - *laughs, not slowing* "I have no idea what you're talking about! There's nothing wrong with calling someone old 'old!'"
Yuuri - "Oh! That's right... Well, maybe I like staying behind. Better view this way." *smirks innocently at him*
Wolfram - *flushes and sputters, unintentionally slowing just a bit* "W-WHA?!?!"
Yuuri - *flies past him as soon as he starts to slow down* "I thought you were faster than me. Don't disappoint me now!" *still teasing*
Wolfram - "You... you jerk!!!" *starts to go faster again in an attempt to catch up with him* "That's not fair!! You can't play dirty like that!!"
Yuuri - *laughs/smirks over his shoulder, playful* "You know you like it better from back there anyway. Don't be so shy about it."
Wolfram - *flushes bright red/growls at the teasing* "I have no idea what you're talking about!! There's nothing worth mentioning back here!!!"
Yuuri - *laughs again/still pushing his horse quickly ahead* "I'm sure."
Wolfram - "Yuuri!!" *remains behind him, but slowly begins to gain on him*
Yuuri - *mock gasps* "Oh no! It looks like you're catching up! I should probably go faster. Wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable by staring at you the entire way."
Wolfram - *growls again* "Shut up, you pervert!!"
Yuuri - *smiles at him* "But you love me."
Wolfram - "Yeah, well..." *doesn't really know what to say to that/still trying to catch up*
Yuuri - *laughs/slows his horse just a bit to ride along side Wolfram's/reaches out with one hand towards the blond, smiling at him* "You know I was just teasing."
Wolfram - *glares at him/still flushing* "I'm beginning to think this wedding is just a prelude to sex for you."
Yuuri - *pouts at him/wiggling his fingers on his stretched out hand*
Wolfram - *glares at him*
Yuuri - *smiles, pulling his hand away* "Fine..."
Wolfram - *looks ahead, keeping his eyes on the road/grumbles* "Fat old pervert..."
Yuuri - *gasps in fake insult* "You're calling me fat??"
Wolfram - *smirks* "Yes, Your Majesty, I'm calling you fat."
Yuuri - *smiles at him* "Well, you're beautiful."
Wolfram - *lifts his nose into the air arrogantly* "You think I don't know that already?"
Yuuri - *pretends to think* "And sexy to boot."
Wolfram - *looks at him with another smirk* "I know that, too." *kicks his horse into a fast gallop again/calls behind him* "Which is why you shouldn't mind it back there too much, right?"
Yuuri - *mock pouts/falling behind a little as Wolfram sped ahead* "I love you, too..."
Wolfram - *laughs and keeps going, not even bothering to stop and think if they're going the right way, since... well... he has no idea what the right way is/figures they'll eventually get somewhere and that he shouldn't worry too much*
Uhhh... Who else noticed all their freakin' fatal flaws they made while in the process of trying to run away...? Anyone?? Because Mikage and I were like 'Oooohh.... crap...' afterwards... But whatever... They'll survive... *shifty eyes* Maybe... Hee~
But yeah... that's all for this part... And... I can't remember why I cut it at this part... OH... because nothing's really happening and I met my quota for page count... XP Sorry... No big cliffhangers or whatever this time... Just... They've finally gotten out of the castle, right??
