THIS is why I don't like responsibility.

After all this blows over, I ain't never, EVER! takin' responsibility again. Nothin' good ever comes from it anyways. It'll be back to the way things used ta be; no worries.

Say, does that mean you're NOT running for mayor? 'Cause I never really got all the details of that figured out...

I was. I'm not so sure anymore.

How come? I thought you were going to be mayor to save us all from becoming popcorn...

Have you heard the feedback I've been gettin'? It's startin' to get real dangerous. I might end up 'popcorn' myself, and then what? What happens then?

Oh but if only it were that simple, hm? You sound like you've had far too many experiences now to turn back to the way things were before.

I'm hopin' it ain't that way; that it can't turn back

You can try of course...I'm just saying it's a lot harder to reverse change once it has begun. Your responsibility would be hard to run from because it is something you took upon yourself...that is why they are called burdens...

I'm not running away from it! Tch! And I can handle my burdens just fine.

Hm... Responsibility is indeed a difficult burden, but an important one as well. Although... I cannot say I fault you for wanting to leave it all behind. I think we all are ready to leave this place.

Yeah? Well it's one I'm gettin' sick of.

Hmhm... Everyone does at some point.

But effective, good leaders are hard to find.

You and everyone else, I think.

Well, at least some have been outside the walls. I've been cooped up inside all this time.

Yeah, but it doesn't sound like outside the domes is the safest place to be either.

Just can't win, huh.

No you can't. N' I'm holdin' that against this place too.

Have you become so disenchanted with leadership and responsibility already?

...they do say that thrusting leadership upon someone is a good way to measure how they handle it...

Whaddya mean 'already'? Do you have any idea how long I've been at this? I've been handlin' thing pretty well... But I need a serious vacation.

Oh? It seems you have done a pretty poor job to me.

Leaders do not get time off to do as they please. Whatever else may happen, they are still responsible for those whom they lead. I would say that you must be a rather poor leader... However, I believe we have already established that thought.

Gee, thanks. My enthusiasm is just breakin' through the roof now. You're really good at this motivation stuff. You should be a coach or somethin'.
