Summary: Brian decides to prove to his mom what she means to him.
“Brian, are you ready for school?”
“Brian, did you do your homework?”
“Brian, be careful!”
“Mom, I got it, OK? I’ll talk to you later.”
As I walked towards school, I was a little annoyed at my mom, but I knew she just worried about me. She just wanted the best for me. I wasn’t really planning on doing anything for Mother’s Day. Usually, I just buy one of those recordable greeting cards and say something short. But I knew she had been stressed out lately. I felt like I had to do something more. I knew I would need help.
“I have no idea what I should do,” I said to Jordan later. “Mom’s been working so hard lately. She does so much for me.”
“I have an idea,” She just chuckled. “I think it will be great, and you can do it, no problem. You have some money saved up, right?”
“Yeah…”
“So all you have to do is make a phone call.”
I understood perfectly. I made all the arrangements myself.
Mom was really impressed that I got us there, via car service, and I booked us a table at her favorite restaurant. For once, I was able to prove to her how much her hard work meant to me.
