Summary: She decides not to talk about the car crash.

She slammed the door, it had been a long day. The apartment was dark. She called out for her husband, but there was no answer. He probably went out, she thought. It was so unlike him.

She tried to get her thoughts together. She needed to talk to someone, but she knew she could never talk to him about this. It was too close to home. She shook her head and walked to the kitchen. She set down her purse and poured herself a drink. She needed it.

The whole day was quiet and suddenly, she was restless in the quiet apartment. No one was at work as usual and now she’d come home to an empty house. It was too much, it was overwhelming. She thought about those dark shadows she'd seen on the video. The images haunted her mind.

She heard the door slam. She shook her head and quickly poured the rest of her drink down the drain. She didn’t want him to catch her like this. Weak.

He made his way over to her and kissed her on the cheek.

The video replayed in her mind. A car coming to a stop. The driver realizing something was underneath the car. The car backing up and you see something that is clearly a body. Sudden frenzy. An ambulance pulls up in less than two minutes.

It had been a simple request from the detectives. It haunted her. It was her worst nightmare. It had happened to him. The events were nearly parallel. She could never tell him what she’d seen.

He had survived. The man in the video had not. He was strong, he was brave, she had to admit she admired him because of it. She always had trouble expressing her emotions.

“I love you.” She said simply.

It was enough.
