I wouldn't rule out something to make up for no fatalities.

Like...good gameplay.

This is Ed Boon we're talking about. He may just be crazy enough to make another MK game as good as MK2.

The Mortal Kombat guys haven't really adapted as well as Capcom has, I think. I started losing interest once they introduced it to 3D, not saying that was the reason I was disappointed, though. The newest ones seemed to rely heavily on gimmicks like new game modes and unlockable stuff, new characters that weren't nearly as cool as the originals, so all I can say is that I hope adding DC characters isn't just another gimmick.
