i think in a lot of ways, going to a party by yourself is a good barometer of who you are as a human being. based on tonight's experience, i think i am a lot more grown up and emotionally mature than i give myself credit for, which i would do well to remember in daylight hours. that and part of being awesome is believing that you are awesome. i ( Read more... )

Oh, YES. Definitely.

It always begins with YOU, Matt. Always.

The beliefs one holds can be conceived of as a mind/body state (the Buddhists process intention as "thought/word/deed" in a complete unit), I'm finding...you enter into your chosen state of being (well, sometimes it's imposed upon you, but--we're talking about self-actualization and liberation here), radiate it from your core, project it out into the world.

Strangely enough, you can then proceed to create your own reality from this space of being...sounds crazy, but try it...it's true ( ... )

I also totally understand being a habitually nihilistic misanthrope...and, y'know, I've been feeling fiercely disappointed in people lately, to be honest. Not that it's gonna derail me, but...yeah, I get it. I do.

Nevertheless: keep going, keep playing, keep breathing, keep fighting.
You're one of the good ones, Matt...believe that, and keep it close.
