um I don't get it. Maybe there was a typo? Did he hit the kid and then say that or something?

he didnt hit the kid at all..
his left hand was against the kids face.. but he smacked his left hand with his right hand.. pretending to smack the kid..
and then he turned to me and said that he was pretending that was me he was "smacking"
