confessions of a ... DoTa noob

Dota never fails to amaze me with its wonderfully paradoxical nature. While the game is intended for social interaction - albeit amongst guys most of the time - more often that not we can a rather complete show of anti social behavior.

But anyway, Strings had a pseudo-outing today, courtesies of Kevin Liew. Had lunch at Bukit Timah Market, pigged ( Read more... )

i considered that quite a number of times, but ultimately if I want the friendship to be active (ironically), playing dota with them is a must

haha nice one though

Bleh plenty of people like that in games. Just play various multiplayer games and you'll see just how annoying people can get. Makes you want to kill them. And if playing dota is all your friendship depends on... that isn't a very good friendship, is it?

That is why I prefer games like Runescape. You can work together with your friends and still have competition over who has high levels.

I never said it was =D.

Nonetheless, i'd rather maintain it than not have it at all

You sound like you are playing on BNet with all the quitters/swearers. Still remember last time we played DOTA together at East Coast with Kaiyang, Wai Peng and David Ng, we are splitting the teams up so that the pros could teach the noobs.

If you do have to LAN, switch to point-and-shoot games like Counterstrike, where a trigger happy noob like me can easily tyco a few pros using my trusty shotgun, albeit for one round :D

You admit that you're noob in dota. I wouldn't mind being called a noob if I really am one, but I find it annoying that they just call you noob without actually offering any tips to imorove. Is that right?

Yeah, and I apologise for my overly aggressive behaviour in dota games. I feel rotten everytime I finish a game, whether I owned or got owned.

absolutely - and its not just noob you know. Noob is niaoing...insults are another thing altogether.

Haha you shouldn't be apologizing to me cos I've never played a dota game with you b4! (phew!) Nonetheless the ability to recognize you behaviour as aggressive is a saving grace already. =)

heyhey dearest fairy god greatgrandfather. :)
it must be the people you play with. heh. when we lanned i enjoyed myself a whole lot! ^^
jokes aside, sometimes playing such games bring out the other side of people.. the rash, impulsive and competitive side. guess that is the side of them you'll hardly ever see unless in situations like these. stay happy nonetheless! i'm sure they dont really mean it. :)
