Gas and heating oil prices have fallen this month. I can imagine three possible reasons...

  1. The word is out, there's a new sheriff in town.
  2. Nobody wants to kill the ox.
  3. Oil companies have had good production and they'd like to pass the savings onto their customers.

Or, as it usually happens, they lower gas prices before an election so that they can "fly under the radar" during the final weeks before an election.

I recall just before GW got elected, the prices started going up.

The year before, they did, but about a month and a half before they did, they dropped for about three months. I ONLY remember it because it was one of the things that went into my friend closing his comic shop...heat and transportation costs doubled and he couldn't find a way to boost his profits by the same amount to cover it.

It all comes back to comic books in my mind.

Ah!

Yeah, selling comic books was all about low overhead.
