I finally got my bass yesterday.
Traben Torrent 5
The Neck is a 35" scale, which makes this thing a monster.
Oddly enough, it came with a G&G case thats a bit too big

It's just like the one below except with 5 strings.

No shit, I've wiped it down with a clean cloth damn near every time i've played it. Brian's little peice of wisdom the other day was that gloss finished wood is porous. I laughed a little and said "okay". I predict at some point it would be unwise of me to just let him believe what he wants, but for now, fuck it.

Thank you much. I wish I could find a picture that really shows the finish on the body. In good enough light it shows as transparent purple over the quilt maple woodgrain. I dig it.

awesome bass! How does it sound?

It sounds amazing. very smooth and not too punchy, but there's balls enough blow stuff up if I wanted. It has active electronics and an on board 3 band EQ, as well as cool liitle blend knob so I can easily go from a chunkier Primus like sound to a more mellow bluesy sound.
I'd trade it in a heart beat for a neck-thru Warwick Thumb bass or a Tobias neck-thru custom, but untill one of those offers turns up this has to be the best bass I could hope to own.
