Everything seemed to be going fine, Madelyne was doing reasonably well, we'd gotten some weight back on her, and she for the most part was happy I think. That changed last night, I had brought the dogs in due to the thunderstorms earlier that day. Madelyne is terrified of thunder. I had gone down to retrieve them so that can return

I know that without a doubt, you gave her soul a wonderful life. Karma's excellent that way; she was put into the hands a very compassionate and loving family. I only hope that when I come back as a dachsund, I can have someone like you as my owner. :-D

I'm so sorry to hear this, my friend. Bless you for loving her enough to let her go. It's the most difficult decision to make as a pet owner, and from time to time, I still find myself second-guessing the occasions I've had to make it. I just have to tell myself that I made the best decision I could with the information I had at the time, and know that my dogs loved me.
