This is so good. I think the voices are just perfect (Sirius and Remus are just wonderful, and Peter, too, but I think you have a particular talent for James) and it's a really perfect origin story for how they decided to become animagus. AND IT IS SO SWEET!

This is really really fantastic! I love Sirius's endearing, obtuse, feelings-ridden pov. That scene where he smashes shit a lot, and then James stops him gently, augh. Also Remus through Sirius's eyes is just impossible not to be in love with. These guys. ;_;

THIS FIC IS EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT MARAUDERS-ERA. THEY ARE SO YOUNG AND MISCHIEVOUS AND STUPID AND CRAZY AND SO CONNECTED *______*

I really love Sirius' voice here. I love his naiveté (how he thinks he can figure out a way to "cure" Remus when all others have failed) and his earnestness in finding a way to help when he realizes the reality of Remus' lycanthropy. I also love his stubborn streak and how he falls back on and resists those Black traits that have been instilled in him. It's so perfectly Sirius, or how I imagine a young Sirius to be. And Remus is lovely, too. He's quiet and controlled and yet there is the small glimpse of that loss of control. He's kind of dreamy, actually. And James and Peter are perfection. They all just feel so real - like young boys on the verge of growing up.

I haven't read a Marauders-era fic that got me so excited about HP in a while. It's the kind of fic that reminds me why I love Sirius and Remus <33333

And yes! Everything you said! That's exactly what I was trying to go for. Marauders being stupid and young, Sirius's push and pull with his relationship as a Black, being twelve and stubborn and simultaneously too stupid and too smart for his own good, but also a really good and sincere friend. I have a quarter lifetime of Sirius feels which are slowly bubbling to the surface, and I feel like I'm finally in a position to do those feelings right.

They all just feel so real - like young boys on the verge of growing up.
I can't even really respond to this adequately, but thank you so much. :#) I'm so happy this rang true for you. Because that's exactly what they are, and exactly what I wanted to convey.
