I always do think that, especially with a girl as beautiful as Jess, she would have to make the first move on Sam or make it so blatantly obvious that he would be emboldened. It's one of my favorite Sam traits that, while he has a certain quiet self-confidence, he doesn't seem to realize his epic hotness and sex appeal. *goes swoony* Anyway, I really like the concrete sensory details of this and that you've written Sam loving the contrast between the girlish softness of a sleeping Jess and the strong-minded, well-grounded woman he knows her to be.

What's most impressive to me about this is the economy of images that still create such a complete and completely vivid picture of their lives together, and the way you evoke his love for her, suggest her love for him. This is really fantastic. Bravo!
