Kids got to go to the dentist. Poor Jamie needs to get a molar pulled and a spacer put in. The molar's cracked nearly in half :-( He goes in on 9/12, because as it's primary elections I don't have to worry about work or school lost.
Joe got home. I have *never* seen so many cops at that airport at one time before... and that was just outside (btw, pull in, quick look for the person who *should* be there (from driver's seat with foot still on brake) and pick up the cell and it's enough time for one of them to come up and tell you to move... silly man told me arrivals (which was insane driving through) rather than where he really was (departures)... and with the finished construction now you've got to leave the airport to return to the terminal.
Was brave enough to actually go on my first bike ride in... well, about 11 years (if you don't count an hour or so at Rehoboth, most of which was spent walking the bike because little girl with training wheels was rather slow). Told Joe I'm not doing anything other than the nearly flat path at the bottom of our hill for a while after this. Only about 4-5 miles (several hills didn't help, especially as I wasn't about to go fast down a hill... my brake pads feel rather harder than I trust to break properly... might have to change them, but wish that the bike shop had noticed and mentioned that) and I *hurt*. It's been a couple years since I've found time (and lack of pain) enough even to do the recumbant bikes at the gym... and wow, I'd never realized just how many muscles you use for bicycling that *don't* get used for anything else.... thankfully, or I wouldn't be able to move at all...
Other than that, I'm still trying to get my brain together for work, and figure out what I *think* I'm doing at least... or start to pretend to better than I think I can (hey, I was honest during the interview about the fact that I don't feel all that prepared for it).
And playing bits of catch-up with *very* long-lost friends... yay! :-)
