Yup, you've "got it"... the same way I do. Friends are *great*... but Faire is Faire... and MDRF especially is a unique opportunity to enjoy both nature and people things at the same time. (not to mention a heck of a lot of great acts and shops)
This year I'm going to try something new. A friend (who is NOT faire-based, but has been to MDRF a couple of times with other non-renaddicts) is coming and I've promised to show them the sights from the viewpoint of someone who has grown up in Revel Grove. We may take a toast with the Rogues/Wenches at O'Shucks in the morning, and we may partake in afternoon Rat Puck, but the day will be spent showing the wonder of our village to someone who's only been wandering to date.
Sigh... it's difficult to go back, once you're on the other side, too. (then again, I'm one of those wierdos that look at costuming, sets, and general production stuff almost as much as at what's going on on the stage sometimes... I was lost for quite a while on something when watching "Avenue Q", when I looked up and realized I had no clue what had happened for the past 5 minutes or so)
