Well, if it makes you feel any better, Colorado will probably never have Ichidan as guests either, which means they would not get benefits, payment, etc etc. I personally think it's because CO has a huge history with fan based groups and them turning into flaming balls of drama. There is also the fact that there are A LOT of fan groups like Ichidan in Colorado that have been kept on a smaller scale because of NDK's practice of how they handle fan groups.
Ironically, I had rather a long talk with Ichidan's set designer and a few other members of Ichidan about going to other conventions. Honestly, I think they would be much better suited to branching out into more theatre than anime cons. There tends to be a few strict, if not unsaid, set of rules that guests, especially a guest cosplay group, has to conform to, and I'm not sure Ichidan wants to meet them, much less if they do or not.
