Not only am I going to keep up with listing the books I read this year. I am writing up a quick impression of each as I finish it, and preserving it in what will be one honkin' huge Word file. Although I know you don't know me at all, I figure I could put my two cents in and help out. I work in a bookstore, so I've got a few ideas for a readable version of the Odyssey ( ... )

Excellent. Thank you for the leads. I think I know what that B&N gift card I got for Christmas will be going toward.

I'm looking for that fine balance between an accurate translation, and a readable translation, instead of some godawful stilted transliteration. It's a difficult thing to find (I have one version of Rousseau's "Emile" that is not only readable, but enjoyable. Another version that I picked up at a Grad Student booksale, painfully stiff).

And hooray for Alton Brown!
