you don't need the engineering nightmare of a whole other button, or a button at all when you can simply tap 2 fingers on the track pad to do right click and tap 1 finger on the trackpad for left click.... who needs buttons, just adds more distance i'd have to move my hand when mousing arround. also, macs can scroll by dragging 2 fingers across the trackpad (left right up and down), swipe 3 fingers across the trackpad for forward and back functionality in web browsers or the finder (like windows explorer). and you can even use the mac trackpad to rotate pictures by using 2 fingers in a "walking" motion in the direction you want the rotation to happen. AND you can also use drag-lock functionality to grab hold, drag, and let go of icons right through trackpad gesturing. not to mention the zoom capability like you can do on the iphone, you can do the whole pinch to zoom in and out thing on a macbook pro now too.
1. The above statement only applies to the Macbook, not Mac's in general. It's been awhile since I've worked for MacWarehouse, but I don't believe they offer any similar functionality for a desktop machine.
2. When I'm playing Diablo 2 and I want my sorceress to launch fireballs, I don't want to f around with the nuances of whether my sausage fingers swiped once or twice or left or right and pretty soon she'll be drinking mana potions instead of fireballing.
actually, the desktops all ship from the factory with 4 button mice. you've been able to right click with any ol usb mouse since os 9.
personally, when im gaming at home or at a lan party I use a logitech mx revolution wireless mouse and I always keep my logitech v270 in my notebook bag for gaming or photo work when im traveling.
but right now im sad because im writing this on my xv6700 pda phone instead of a computer. sent it off to apple today. hopefully they'll ship my new one tomorrow and should get to me sat. or mon.
