Bring lots of reading material or DVDs to play. Sounds to me like you may be spending an inordinate amount of time in airports. Bon voyage & good luck.
That wasn't so much of an issue, it was mainly just cascading delays due to the remnants of the storm. There were still crowds of people around all the checkin desks, but that didn't affect me since I already had my seats.
Fortunately, the delay on my flight leaving Halifax more than made up for the delay in my flight arriving from Montreal, so I'm safely ensconced at the family abode. Thanks for the offer though, being stuck in Halifax would otherwise have been pretty grim.
Actually I thought that might happen. When I think I'm going to miss a connection due to weather, I usually actually catch it because *everything* is delayed anyway.
And in most cases, even if you do miss it, they can usually get you on the next flight. Though it's a bit more iffy this time of year.
Anyhow, I'm glad you made it! I was rooting for you!
It was actually a bit iffy, I had a (nominally) tight connection in Halifax, and the news this evening was full of stranded passengers saying Air Canada promised to get them to where they were going... in January. There were large herds of frustrated people trying to get standby seats on most of the flights I saw, large numbers of "would passenger so-and-so please contact the gate agent" announcements, etc.
And yet somehow there was an empty seat next to me on the way to St. John's. Bravo.
