I can only hope that my love of terroir, the local, the personal, etc. comes through here. Somewhat counterintuitively, it's often the most specific, the most idiosyncratic stuff that resonates the most widely with any prospective audience.

In short, if you're gonna make wine, make wine that is representative of where it was made. Don't make a wine that wants to be like every other wine that's come before it. If you're gonna make art, make something new. Don't move to New York or San Francisco and slavishly ape Robert Mapplethorpe or Richard Serra. You know what I mean.
