Thanks for sharing these; I'd been thinking of you the past few days and wondered where you were in this mess. I hope folks are okay. These are some amazing photos, although obviously we could wish for different subject matter (unlawful assembly? eesh).

Great stuff. Thanks for putting these up. No wonder we couldn't find the guards at work last night, they were watching the riots on TV.

Ted, these are insane! Was anyone actually doing anything to merit this kind of response? Especially in those "along the river" shots, it seems like there's tear gas being deployed at random against very few actual protesters. Also, they reminded me of cybermen. And, do you know the name of the lawyer's group? That's cool.

Merit is highly debatable. We keep hearing reports in the media of scary anarchist groups, including the RNC Welcoming Committee group, that were supposedly going to go on some kind of terroristic rampage, but so far the biggest incidents have been someone smashing a Macy's window, and a couple of delegates getting something like bleach thrown at them. It's worth mentioning though that there has been a lot of mingling on the streets between Republican delegates and people in various stages of opposition, and i have to say it's been amazingly tension free ( ... )

Oh and just reading their hats, the lawyers seem to be from a group called the National Lawyer's Guild. They are a non-profit civil rights group with a website here:

Check out democracynow.org for a lot more info on the arrests. Amy Goodman (the host) and two of the producers were arrested, and there is significant info including interview and video footage there.
There's also more at starhawk.org. A Permaculture (integrated organic gardening plus) organization's bus was impounded for no reason on their way into town, and many groups (including the National Lawyers' Guild) were preemptively raided, illegally had their property searched/seized, and/or were arrested.

Wow. Glad to see this is the kind of democracy y'all want to have everyone else enjoy. Makes the Aussie kind where they don't shoot you with rubber bullets look kinda pansy by comparison...

Thanks.

Damn...i almost called your number a couple of times.

What happened!? Did you get arrested?

What pissed me off watching that was how those frackers kept shooting into the middle of the crowdafter people were obviously retreating.
