Last night i went out and saw The Fountain, the latest movie by Darren Aronofski, (of Pi, Requiem for a Dream). It's a luscious movie less a movie than a tone poem of sorts. Reminded me strongly of Solaris with some 2001 mixed in. Soundtrack is done by Kronos Quartet (!!!!) and Cint Mansell, same people who did the Requiem soundtrack ( Read more... )

Winding down my busy week. The premiere of Urban Explorers was a heck of a lot of fun. The crowd was like a who's who's of the Twin Cities UE community. The Telephone is back on, having been destroyed by the neighbor's tree destruction. Under Hiawatha Ave lurk many things including forgotten murals, curious/clueless tourists, and lost squirrels. This week is The Big Sale at the store. This weekend also is the premiere of a documentary about UE and a Decemberists concert. Next weekend is Beka.

While driving to work i passed an old, beat-up american car parked on 35th. In large, crapily written spray paint it said on the back, "Hit me, need $$$."
