.i made a very sweet karo syrup this morning, minus the corn syrup ingredient. i was going for homemade honey but left it for a second too long and it boiled over(carmaled sugar all over stove=messy). not a bad experiment overall, i could easily see how it would mimic honey if able to cook the proper time, i will try again at a later date. it is ( Read more... )

my grandmother used to make a cane/birch sap syrup by letting it set on the edge of the wood stove,.. it would mostly just evaporate,..

turns out it didn't taste all that good, but will make good cough syrup. next time i will have to watch it more closely and see what comes out.
