Thoughts

Years have come and gone. This is my journal - A doesn't even read it (to my knowledge). So my thoughts are my own. My dreams are my own and shared with very few since social networking has moved on. Here I can articulate thoughts that I wouldn't dream of posting on FB ( Read more... )

What a wonderfully thoughtful post. It's so good to see you here. You articulate exactly why Live Journal works and Facebook fails ...

As to relocation ... I'm from Houston, but I've lived in Seattle. It's a terrific city, but is an exceedingly expensive place to live. Do you require an urban area? I have friends who have retired (one is still telecommuting) to Naselle, Oregon and are delighted with their home, property and the people in the area. You could find simplicity and opportunity there ...

I wish you well!

We don't require urban. I'd thought of Aberdeen area, Ocean Shores or other parts of SW WA but friends have warned us off. So, Likely Battlecreek area (just north of Vancouver) or greater Puget Sound (Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Port Angeles or parts north on the east side).

Concentrating on WA because that's where I can live and remain employed with my current company. Changing employers would add to the stress.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Great to hear your news. Good to hear that GCN is still doing good stuff. Best wishes with all the planning and the exploratory trips. Portland and Coastal Oregon is the nearest I've been to Washington state, but I enjoyed my visit to that area. (Will be in Kansas for a conference in Aug and might dip by Houston if you haven't moved before then).
