my computer is a big part of my life. i dont like it but its true. after many months of a fucked up windows registry. i finally got my hands on a copy of xp pro 64 bit. when i install it, it always fails to copy pro_reg4.swf which is just part of the windows opening animation, which to me says that i may have a bad dvd drive. apparently some

Have you tried installing anything non-Microsoft on it? Having had my share of grief with Microsoft crap, I'd try installing something like Ubuntu, just to make sure it's not a software problem.
