You touch on a lot of issues here, but most of them can be discussed in the same manner. The thing is, everyone involved in this is just a bunch of people. There aren't any dogmatic pronouncements involved in online discussions like that marriage thread - anyone who wants is free to argue for a particular perspective, such as (for obvious and immediate example) your advocacy of the domum deductio as a central aspect of the marriage rite.
As an aside, I presume that your reference to Ernst Dick is to his "The Bridesman in Indo-European Tradition"? Thank you for that reference. I'd not known of that article before, and look forward to reading it (for free on JSTOR!)
I note your objection to "new age" practices in regard to poetry, though I don't think that it's warranted in most cases. There probably are some people out there whose entire approach is one of visualization and such, but no one group is authoritative on what practices are "filidecht" - this is even more true as the poetic tradition is a living one, especially so in
