didn't know notre dame was an internet cafe! anonymous May 24 2004, 15:34:45 UTC
Well the times, they are a changin' . . . Back in my day, Notre Dame was a CHURCH! Of course, now we all know it's Paris's biggest internet cafe.

Word up on the funky keyboards! Don't go to Germany or zou"ll be tzping like thiB. Word!

I had the exact same shower experience when I was in Fiorenze, or however you spell Florence in Italian. Actually, I thought it was efficient, except for the whole "Walkin though your travel companion's shower soap scum leavins all over the floor to get to the toilette where you feel kind of vulnerable and you were kind of hoping that everything is clean and non-scummy so you can relax and concentrate on the momentous event about to occur" feeling. It also made me wonder if they just do that in hotels, or if people's actual apartments (where they're short on space) might also be like that.

Well, I could make this a lot longer, which helps my goal of limiting the amount of time you have to type an entry (you're quickly approaching my guess of 4), but that would make me feel guilty. Enjoy ( ... )

hey this is neato anonymous May 24 2004, 21:10:18 UTC
Well, I would have posted earlier Christina, but "Tommy_Hunt...." does not look that professional on a business card. Anyway, it looks like you are getting in the full European experience....my suggestion is just do as the French....never shower. That way you won't notice the bad B.O. or deal with soapscummy floors.

I'll check in periodically....this is a good break from the daily grind :-)

smaller than a swedish bathroom!!! anonymous May 25 2004, 13:25:11 UTC
see tinerbell??? i'm not really that picky!!! their bathrooms and showers ARE smaller over there!!!! i'm not crazy!!! and here bridgeepoopoohoney probably just thought i was whining unnecessarily about the size of the showers and bathrooms!!! and the hotel rooms!!!
our hotel room in stockholm was the size of bridgeepoopoohoney's downstairs bathroom! 1 bed that had another bed flip out over it and a tv right about your head...and we also had a window that opened right onto the traffice 4 stories below!!! no locks there....
yikes....i hope you're eating well-european food can be scary!!!
i'm so excited to read your journal!!!! i got away from a few days but was so delighted to see so many entries!!! i can't wait to hear all about the red light district and the louvre and the eiffel tower-and be sure to eat french fries!!! i want to know how they taste!
have fun tinerbellita!!!

I'm Counting My Blessings!! anonymous May 25 2004, 18:22:19 UTC
And I think I'm just gonna go sit awhile in my NICE BIG SHINY BATHROOM!!!! Those bathroom stories sound very similar to the ones they have on cruise ships....space is definitely a factor, but I guess they hope with all the food and drink, people might not notice, they're standing in water in a phone booth. Your adventures sound so exciting....can't wait to hear your stores and I'm sure there will be many...keep up the journaling...we really enjoy it...love, Auntie Mombat
