i think between yesterday and today, ive managed to talk to a family member for about 10 minutes total, and it takes forever to get through each time for about a 3 minute convo. but yeah, everyone is safe, lost the patio and trees and shed, roof shingles (couple people in my neighborhood lost all of their roofs), power gone, and school is out for the rest of the week, and they are looking at next week, too. this really sucks. i guess pembroke pines has really gotten lucky with past storms, cause this one really hit. and my parents wont let me come home to help, they say there is nothing i could do, and that i already had plans for jax this weekend, to not change them
Ya so far everyone ive heard from has minor damage, but nothing earth-shattering. I guess good shit does happen to good people. Because I have seen and heard about plenty of really messed up houses cars etc, but its all been "the guy down the block" or something on tv. Just gotta be thankful for how lucky you can be.
Davin and I are leaving for Orlando, I know its late but they can come with us if they need to. Or we can bring them back if our schedules coincide. And while we're there we can help them out- give them directions to grocery stores and stuff, just call me and let me know- whatever we can do to help!!!
If you try calling with verizon, I've had the most luck with that. So far, I've been able to talk to my mom every day for a normal amount of time. But yeah, I live in such a cookie cutter place where all our houses are so close, no one really got it too bad. But call me if ya need anything, or if you need me to call my mom to get in touch with your rents, my familys cell's are doing pretty good, so let me know. =)
Finally the land lines are back up, but thanks anyways. T-Mobile sucks so much ass, i doubt theyll be back in service for a long time, but at least the house phone is working. Glad that your parents mare it out ok :-)
I understand that! I didn't have power for three days. With parents that are nurses and a brother that is a firefighter they had to report into a place powered by genorators. By what I call "good karma" there isn't as much damage to my house and our scout camping know-how kept us through everything until we got power back at 5pm today....good Karma good karma... Congratz on gettin power back. Ive heard that some of the neighborhoods around mine are getting power little by little, so im sure it wont be too long till we're back up. Thanks for the support tho :-)
