I think I am going to purchase some books for my two week vacation; five days of it will be spent with my family in the Bahamas and Mike and I won't have much entertainment there. I'm thinking of ordering, "Howard Zimm's A People's History of the United States", and a book on/by Kant. I love Immanuel Kant; I was first exposed to him in an ethics ( Read more... )

I concur with your plan to get A History.

Rather than asking about the obvious, how about C.G. Jung? Not particularly his archetypes, or the collective unconscious, but his writing on "the modern man".

Howard's last name is Zinn. Amazing book. I'm reading his The Politics of History right now, and it's also very good.

Seen you at the Castle who-the-hell-knows how many times. Never met you though.
