The Collector
The Collector is ancient, once a human but no more, instilled on the earth by a powerful order that he has since broken ties with. He longs for the power to overthrow the order and he feels that he must collect a menagerie of monsters to be able to accomplish his goal however he was unable to control the beasts fully. Feeling that magic that bears some of his blood too, he seeks out a beautiful woman to bear the monsters he wishes for, one to sew magic into that he can control as his pawn.
The witch: Evangeline
Once a good, sweet and normal girl, Evangeline ended up a prostitute to make ends meet whereupon she contracted syphilis. Dying, she was contacted by one of her earliest clients, a man who had unsettled her so much that she had spurned all further advances, despite how well he had paid her. He was a collector of beautiful things, living and dead, and wanted Evangeline for his collection. Evangeline wished to live and so the Collector healed her and took her to his mansion. There, she was taught how to behave, how to act and in time he came to marry her, to further bind her to his service. Evangeline was taught witchcraft, the magic the Collector had sown in her to heal her and bind her enough to make her a powerful witch. This was when Evangeline learned that she would not be bearing the Collector children; he brought demons and monsters of power with qualities he wished for his offspring, qualities he could not bestow upon them and so Evangeline was locked in the basement with them or had spells used upon her until she conceived.
Evangeline's brood
Some of Evangeline's children died in the womb, during birth or were spirited away from her; she has no knowledge of any sons she conceived.
The six daughters of Evangeline are held close to her, her little brood of monsters. None of her children have names as they are considered to be beasts and are only wanted by the Collector to sow his own bloodline with power; he plans to impregnante all the girls and perform a ritual to bind the magic of the children he produced with her daughters with his own to be given his power and to allow him to control the children utterly.
Evangeline gave all her daughters "names" though, "names" she sewed into their blood and their skin and their magic which she hopes will prevent the Collector from achieving his goals.

The outcasts
Evangeline's sons, children she has never held or seen. The Collector had no use for these boys and either locked them in cages or cast them out to die. Many died - Evangeline had more sons than daughters - but some lived and the Collector kept tabs on all of them. The sons have all learned what they are by trial and error and none of them have met one another yet.

The Mistake
The son of Evangeline and the Collector who was born a human with no magic. He was raised in the house and Evangeline does not know he's her son but he is the only one who has ever attempted to defend her from the Collector until he was disowned and sent out into the world. He is the only one of Evangeline's children with a name and he has since become a hunter, tasking himself with hunting down his brothers and hunting down the monsters the Collector would bring to Evangeline.
