The Robert Blake verdict really is a testament to the fact that if you engage in really sleazy behavior people will find it very easy to write your life off. I did it towards this Bakley women, that was what was so profound about this verdict to me. I believed Blake killed her, believed it so much that I was convinced that when the jury came back

My read of it is that the jury still had their doubts, as there wasn't direct evidence tying Blake to the murder. There was coincidence and probability, but not hard evidence that would justify a murder conviction.

maybe its not slam dunk by the letter of the law, and i know you cant go by guts in court, but don't you think he did it?

I think Robert Blake was somehow connected to the crime, but perhaps a contract killer actually shot Bonnie Lee. In a criminal trial, the jury is instructed that the prosecution has to prove it's case, "beyond a reasonable doubt".

oh yes. and blake was lucky in the sense that his murder for hire cronies were such meatballs.
i think he did ask those guys and atleast talk to them about his interest in her disposal . then he saw how incompetent they were and did it himself.
but he didn't have gun powder on his hands, right? to a jury that could be troublesome. thats resonable doubt right there.

blake was/is a hero of mine.
i'm happy to see him found not guilty.
