If you try, I'll bet you could come up with darker letters.

well initially i just typed normally, assuming the default letter color would show up but it didn't! it took me a little while to realize that the color of my lettering-black i presume- was just blending into the background of my journal (also black) which never happened before, before being like a year ago when i last posted. in order to post a photo i had to upgrade my account so i wonder if upgrading messed with something in my journal's layout? it's annoying!

If you navigate to LJ home, journal, and then journal style, you could probably upgrade to a new style, and the text will default to black. It's very punk though, to do yellow on a white background.
