[The rocking of the buggy that had been sent for them is like a lure, drawing Kira to sleep, just like the little one she held close to her. Days of staying awake worrying over Amaya's perpetual sleep were slowly taking their toll, though she didn't want to admit it...

As she lets her eyes close briefly, head leaning slightly to the side, a little hand clutching at her brings her back to full awareness.]

We're going to visit Professor Hojo. [She speaks softly, a little smile on her face.] He'll help you get better.

[Get...better... The idea is almost strange. Amaya's short memory can't remember a time before this, this sluggish state of endless doze.

Somewhere at the back of her mind is her big brother's warning - do not trust that man. But if mama does...?]

I don't wanna- Mister Hojo is... [And instinctively, Amaya stops talking before she can reveal more about her silver-haired siblings. They are her very own secret. She buries her head further into Kira's warmth.]

...You're not gonna leave, right?

Mister Hojo... [Kira pauses before she can say anything of the complaints she might have had concerning the professor over the years.] He can help, even if he is a little scary.

[The little voice almost makes her smile slip, but she keeps it on even as Amaya looks away from her. She leans down to kiss her daughter's head, speaking softly.] I'll stay with you, I promise. Mister Hojo can't scare me off.

[She leans into the kiss, savouring safety. Safe. For now. But how long does safety last?

Amaya clings harder, remembering. Promises. Always. But still she would wake up with Kira gone...]

You went away mama... Granny cried and then she fell over and it was dark and cold...
