I hear about people getting screwed out of a final paycheck more than you'd think, although mostly it's my friends working in places like record shops and bookstores. I figured that if I hadn't quit, she would have had to fire me pretty soon after anyway. And what kind of an idiot would I have been continuing to work with no paychecks to show for it, right? :)

All in all I didn't write this for sympathy or anything, it's really just a harmless weird / funny story to me now and I know I am STILL lucky for having the luxury to quit from a job even one where I was probably never going to get paid again :) :)

That's absolutely no way to treat an employee and certainly no way to run a business. very good for you that you took it for only as long as you needed to find out what you needed to know. You may have bent that back, but you did not let it break.

Even if I ended up marrying a guy who makes good money, I think I'd be SO BORED if I didn't do SOME TYPE of work . . .
