My trip to England - Lyme Regis and Charmouth

Over Christmas I went to England with my family to see my BIL and his family. It was awesome. We went to London and to Cornwall. A day trip we went on was to Dorset to Lyme Regis to go fossil hunting on the beach. England is so different from the US. Here, they would make it a park so you couldn't just find stuff and keep it. Very interesting. Looks like a neat place. I'd probably be one of the people getting caught trying to take a sourvenier pebble. :P I really like the openness of things in Britain. I certainly wasn't criticizing the fact that you can go and collect stuff from Lyme Regis. I think it's cool! I hate the way everything in America has to be owned by someone. Or else it's "you can't come here, or if you can, you can't touch anything - hands off."

We really got a kick out of the tiny little "Caution, cliff edge" signs at Tintagel and other popular places. In the US, they would totally have it fenced off about 50 meters from the edge of the cliff. In the US, they just assume everyone is a complete idiot (and in many cases, they are right). You all seem to give people a little credit!
