Plarn Bag

For Earth Day there was a reusable tote bag contest at work. I decided to try making a plarn bag - plastic yarn. You cut the bag into strips so you end up with circles of yarn about 1" wide. Then you loop them together to make a double stranded plastic yarn. The bag took about 45 bags to make!

Thanks! Tt was fun to make, but the crocheting is a lot slower than with yarn. I think knitting might be easier, but I haven't tried that with plarn yet. If I can find a (free) source of different colored bags, I might make some more when I have a chance. My brother- and sister-in-law live in London, and their neighborhood store has pink bags. I definitely need to get them to save me some!
