After tying the cape around her neck, Phoebe hugged the large book of fairytales (which would double as her present to Dari) to her chest. She, of course, was friends with Dari... and, really, why would she pass up a chance to dress up and have a bit of fun? She wore a long light blue skirt, aa white blouse, and a blue cape around her neck. She wore brown boots and a brown belt as well. Not the cutest thing in the world, but it went with the outfit. And, for once, her hair was partly pulled away from her face.

She moved the book in her arms a little as she walked around. A little early, maybe but... oh, well!

CeCe sauntered into the large classroom dressed as a castaway from the Muggle TV show, Lost. She was clad in a bikini with jean cut off shorts. In her hands she held a small wrapped parcel for Dari. It was a book from her mother's book shop.

As she entered she spotted Phoebe. "Hey," she said breezily, then she got a better look of what her friend was holding. "You got her a book too?!"

Zak followed the girls into the classroom happily enough. He wore a suit of armour...at least, his upper body did. It had a sort of amoury/leathery skirt...thing...to it that he was wearing blue shorts under. Couldn't be too careful! He hadn't got anything for Dari, he hadn't found the time. But he sort of doubted that she'd really mind. It was the thought that counted right?

"Books, psh. She's a Claw, she'll love 'em!" He grinned as he strolled in. "How're you, ladies?"

Phoebe's grin widened at CeCe and she nudged her a little withh her hip. "You look fantastic," she said with a grin. "I'd never be able to pull that off." She paused for a moment and looked at the book in her arms. "Great minds think alike, yeah?"

And then Zak approached and she gave a mock gasp. "Are you supposed to be my faux knight in shining armour? And, yeah. Those crazy Ravenclaws adore this sort of thing..." she laughed a little and shrugged. "Me? I'm absolutely fantastic, as usual. Excited to see what everyone else comes up with too!"

Steph had gotten the perfect idea for a costume for the party and had smirked as she looked in the mirror, before heading up to the classroom where it was taking place. She'd put her robe on over it, not liking the thought of getting caught wearing so little clothing on the way there, and promptly banished it to her room, planning on summoning it again before she left.

Steph looked around, seeing no one she was especially interested in talking to, and leaned against the wall, a bored expression on her face.

Rosy came to the party as a hippie. It was too much fun not to! She didn't know Dari well but hey, it would be oodles of fun and since they both loved Potions, she knew what to get her. Or at least, she hoped she did.

Rosy saw Steph leaning on a wall. Interesting costume.."Well hello there!" she said, making nice. There was not many people around.

Steph mentally rolled her eyes as Rosy wandered over and spoke to her. "Hey Rosy." She smiled politely, nodding slightly. "What are you supposed to be?" She asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"A hippie, duh! Peace, love and harmony! Boo war, et cetera, et cetera." She made a peace sign, smiling cheesily. "And yourself? What kind of costume is that?" she asked, surveying Steph's barely there piece of fabric. Honestly. Bad taste, much?!

Colin entered the empty classroom, not really wanting to go to this party, but Nico needed responsible prefects, right? And if there was any responsible prefect, that wouldn't get plastered like a fool, it was him. Besides, Kenzie probably would have made him go anyway, despite him not liking Dari. He strolled into the room with said girlfriend, his arm wrapped around her waist. Of course, he wasn't wearing a costume -- that would look silly -- but was dressed in a nice looking suit, while Kenzie was dressed as a cowgirl. Admittedly, that was kind of cute, but he wasn't going to tell her that.

Tobias arrived directly after Colin, he was dressed as a gangster. He had the black cap, suit and tie as well as the correct footwear. Really, he looked the part. And in his inside pocket was a small container with which much spiking was to be done. His first target? Colin of course! The prat hadn't worn a costume! Tobias considered this quite rude, Kenzie had dressed up! Why couldn't he? "Care for a drink mate?" Tobias asked, slapping the older boy on the shoulder. "Course you do! Yeah yeah no alcohol, I know!" He continued past the pair without waiting for an answer.

He made a point of pouring the non-alcoholic stuff rather elaborately before pouring out Kenzie's much more discreetly. Tobias added about half a glassful of tasteless (because he'd made it so) vodka to Colins before handing it back. "Cheers!" He said with a grin, holding his own drink high.

Colin nodded hello to Tobias, and then let his arm drop to his side, following Tobias after he had poured their drinks. Before he had a chance to answer, his friend had made him a drink.. and, well, he was kind of thirsty. Besides, Tobias wasn't dumb enough to offer him something alcoholic, was he? That question was better left unanswered. "Right, cheers," he said, taking the glass in his hand and raising it to clash with Tobias's.

The 5th year grinned as he downed his own, watching Colin out of the corner of his eye in hopes that he would follow suit. "Kenzie, y'look fabulous," He commented, giving her a once over and automatically taking a step away from Colin as he expected to be hit.

"What're you meant to be, Mayfield?" Tobias asked incredously, summoning himself over another glass.

Good. She wasn't the only one to see dressing up in a costume as foolish, and Colin looked quite smart. She also wasn't sure whether that fifth year was wearing a costume, or whether it was normal attire for her, but if she wanted to drag her name through the mud, then that was fine with Aislin (if only she didn't drag down the house name at the same time).

Aislin was of course dressed up, but not in a costume. The nice autumn coloured robes that she had purchased at the last Hogsmeade weekend went well with the golden barrettes in her hair. It said something of Aislin's relationship with Dariana that she had bothered to dress nicely, for Dariana was nice enough, and she had defended Aislin before.

"Nothing untoward happen yet?" she asked herself quietly as she wondered where Rowan was, or Belladonna. This would not turn out like the last party.

Before he had left, he'd grabbed another drink in his hand and started wandering around while he finished off half of his glass. Colin couldn't quite remember when walking started to become difficult, but every so often he had to stop and catch himself, balancing himself against a wall. It was then that he spotted Aislin coming into the room.. hey, he could talk to her! He liked Aislin, so he strolled over to her, throwing his arm around her shoulder. Partly because he was feeling friendly, and partly because he needed someone to balance himself on.

"Hello! How are you doing?" he asked, crossing one leg over the other. "I'm great, this drink is really good, and .." Colin hiccuped, as he raised his glass. "You should try one of these!"

Rowan ran a hand through her blonde hair as she walked into the classroom. It was falling in her face, how annoying. Although it definitely wasn't as annoying as having to walk with a slight limp. Those stupid gryffindor girls. She had refused to allow herself to go to the Hospital Wing. She loathed it. She'd heal on her own time. Regardless, one still had to keep up with appearances and Rowan had no qualms with Dari. Deciding that a costume was rather ridiculous, Rowan didn't wear one and dressed in a set of dark blue robes that matched her eyes.

Spotting a familiar figure, Rowan grabbed a drink and joined Aislin and.. Colin? She held in a laugh at his appearance, he was clearly drunk. Rowan smiled at her cousins. "How delightful to see you both," Rowan said bemusedly, taking a sip of her drink.

What?

Someone had slung their arm around her shoulder, and it took a moment to realise who it was. "Oh, Colin. I'm doing well, thank you, and yourself?" Her brow furrowed at his mention of the drink, and she had to say that even though his behaviour was suspicious, Colin didn't smell of alcohol. Besides, he didn't drink at these types of things, Aislin knew that for a fact. "Maybe later, it is non-alcoholic, isn't it?" Aislin asked Colin curiously.

Oh, Rowan! Aislin was concerned about her cousin's limp but said nothing- for Rowan did have pride in her appearance, even if she currently walked with a bit of a shuffle. "Nice to see you too," Aislin replied. Having missed Rowan in the dorms, Aislin was glad to see that Rowan too had not come in a costume. Very sensible indeed. "Rowan, what are you drinking?" Aislin asked. She hoped very much that if it was a spirit, Rowan had mixed it. Aislin couldn't stand anything apart from a good wine.

Amorisa entered the party, dressed as a medieval maiden. She looked around at her surroundings. It didn't look like much was taking place yet, so she placed her gift on the table and walked around, hoping to mingle with some friends, before her cousin's surprise party started. She knew being here for Dari would help get her mind off her woes and self pity.

After a while, he'd wandered away from Aislin and Rowan, having downed plenty of alcohol already. Wait, had that been Aislin and Rowan? He vaguely remembered them talking... about what, he didn't remember, but oh well, maybe it wasn't all that important. Spotting Amorisa, he strutted over to her (in a pathetic attempt), throwing his arms around her. "Hey, Princess! Care for a drink?" he asked. "They're really good."

Oh my god. Colin was drunk. The thought didn't alarm her so much as bring a grin to her face. When Colin was drunk (not that she supported it or anything) he was so much easier to talk to. She loved it.

"Well there's my prince charming, how are you?" she smiled giving her godbrother a kiss on the cheek.

Cole sauntered into the classroom wearing a sheet draped around him like a toga. "Julius Caesar has arrived!" he called out loud while he entered the room. He was grinning at his accomplishment. He had read up on Julius Caesar and thought it'd be a perfect costume for Dari's party, plus he's always wanted to wear a bed sheet as clothing.

Grabbing a drink, Cole wandered over Colin and a younger girl, making sure to wave at Aislin and Rowan as he did so. "Hullo Colin!" he said brightly, patting him on the back. He wasn't exactly sure who the girl was, but he was sure he'd figure it out soon enough.
