i love doing crafty things. i use to know how to crochet. just a basic stitch though, and i never made anything. i would like to learn how to knit. does anyone know of any groups that don't cost money where they could teach you? or quilting. i really want to learn how to quilt. my aunt can whip one out in no time, but i don't live near her anymore.

Joann's Fabrics offers classes in both the subjects you mentioned, but you guessed it- they cost moola. Best I can suggest is (shameless plug here) coming to a Stitch n Bitch where we can all figure it out together or have blushpumpkin teach us! :P

Because most of us are poor, we've been either meeting at people's houses, where the coffee, tea, and snacks flow freely, or we have just been lucky enough to know someone who works at a centrally-located coffeehouse and can spoil us. ;)

If you're interested, let me know and I can set something up at my house within the next week, while we still have blushpumpkin in town!
