For Whom the Bell Tolls

Ernest Hemingway

Been getting thru it pretty quickly, am quite enjoying it, wants me to learn more about the history of the Spanish Civil War, so straight to wiki from here.

The London Lore book was a bit of a dissapointment, not enough lore too many ghost stories, gets repetitive and not very informative.

The Old Man and the Sea is an amazing, beautiful book by Hemingway. You should definitely add it to your list.

Yes, was quite intrigued by the title and will grab it when I see it either in the library or charity shop.

It's not so much a list more of a determination to read all the books on my book shelf, including exhibition catalogues etc. Though it keeps getting longer every time i go to a charity shop or just po into the library, more one step forward and about 8 jumps back.

Try Orwell's "Homage to Catalonia" as a follow up - an amazing account of the betrayal of the anarchists by the communists during the civil war...

Thankyou, I knew Orwell wrote about his experiences there but couldn't think of the title.
