I can't understand why everyone takes your site so seriously. or how people just can't spell a simple words... I mean come on... Chickapoo?

ok, I thought that most of the christians I grew up were nutcases, but this guy takes the cake. I mean, by his own definition, he's created a religion out of trying to stop religion.

*huggles* I hope you start feeling better soon.

yes, I agree... craigkun February 15 2005, 20:51:48 UTC
Yup... And I seem to get them in torrents also! Why now of all times?

(Actually, I already know why... My little "death to the puppet, not the writer" contest has prompted somebody to send out email to protest my "Bizarre" behaviour)

Yes, this guy does win the award for the most nuts in a cake of nuts.

Though I think "Chickapoo" was on purpose... I think... I hope...

Though a good point about making a religion to stop religion... I hadn't considered that.

The VERY sad part about all this is that he has SOME reasonable points about some Otaku who take things too far. However, I can say that for anything. ANYTHING taken to extremes is bad. Except for Nuriko... But that's my only exception.

Hmm... Yes, I agree... Likely a sock-puppet account anyways... Still, I have a bizarre want to confront him. Mainly because I've had a shitty day from hell and taking it out on somebody would serve to make me feel a little better...

Or maybe not... Argh...

I'm more just baffled about the email... Really, do I deserve this? However, I should throw this email into the church's hate mail collection for retrospect. I'm sure I'll find this funny in a few weeks...

Absolute suckiness about your exam, Craig-nii. I hope you do okay.

As for the guy, I think he sounds a bit pompous (or rather, the guy who wrote the post on use-net). In fact, I'm rather tempted to write a huge essay as an agreement-rebuttal. However, HOWEVER--- some of his points are valid. There are some degrees of otakudom that are counterproductive to the person.

This is where I bring in my own personal 'otaku ideal'. Live life, love anime for what it is, and use it to improve yourself. If you wish so much to live vicariously through martial arts anime, then take it up yourself. If you love mecha, go into engineering and make your own. If you love CLAMP for the awesome costumes, make your own clothes. Design your own RPG games. Learn to fight like Kilik from Soul Calibur. Anime is best used as inspiration, but only to those who know how to use it as such ( ... )

Am I OK? Well, not really... I feel like my soul has been run over by several large objects traveling at warp speeds.

As to the email... Yes, I agree, as I have said before... Pompus? Perhaps not, but he still insists on telling others that they should live their life the way HE thinks is reasonable... That's where I have a problem.

He goes on about the evils of religion (Which I am not really a big fan of either), but fails to distinguish between a hobby and an obsession. Obsessions are bad... Hobbies are hobbies. I collect B-films... But it doesn't control my life. Some days it is all I think about. Just like Go, anime and my cat. But I don't keep any of these things up for more than a few days... At most... Because they are not OBSESSIONS.

Anyways, sorry for ranting in return... I'm going to do some serious depression eatting...
