Aftermath of a War “Where did this one come from?”, Geng asks as he fingers one of Siwon’s scars
“That’s from where Kyu bit me when I carried him back to base. I asked him to… He was in pain…”
“You’re always that way, putting other people first… And this one?”, Geng runs his palm against the scar on Siwon’s back where a huge gash once was.
“When the force of the blast threw me against the sharp rocks that lined our trenches… I remember bending over while Wookie took out all the little stones one by one and dressed my wounds, crying. And hyung holding me down to stop me from moving… we didn’t have anything to numb ourselves with you see.”, a sad look comes over Siwon’s face at the mention of Ryeowook.
Geng nods silently at the mention of the dead boy Kangin and Leeteuk named one of their boys after.
“And then there’s Yesung - Hyung’s old buddy. Didn’t have Kyu’s luck though”, Siwon shrugs, “I would have liked to meet him. Hyung seemed awfully fond of him… It almost made me think he hated me or something when we first met.”
“How could you have thought that possible, Siwon?”, Geng caresses his worn, slightly coarse face. He had lost some of the boyish innocence and gained a rugged, manly quality about him, “It isn’t possible to hate you.”
Siwon holds Geng’s hand, stopping him as he runs his fingers along his cheek, “I’ve been thinking, Geng.”
“What about?”
“Starting a family… I mean, while it isn’t too late, I’d like to settle down soon, and I know Mama would like a grandchild… We can’t give her kids, but we could adopt, right?”
“What’s come over you lately Siwon? First you want to marry me, now you want to have kids…”, Geng sighs, uncertain if he should continue.
“What’s wrong, Geng?”
“Do you miss being with a woman?”
“No! I mean, I have never been with one, unless you count the one in middle school... But that was before I met you. I wouldn’t know, but that isn’t it… I just want to have a stable life, to be with the person I love. I didn’t know you didn’t like it that way… I wouldn’t have asked if I knew.”
“No Siwon, I want to marry you. I would like to be with you. That’s why I said yes. But I’m not sure this is what you want. You’re still young, and -”
“Don’t treat me like a child, you’re not much older yourself!”
“I am not treating you like a child. I just don’t want to bog you down so early in life.”, Geng sighs, “You have no idea how much I want to… It’s just that you didn’t use to be this way, and it scares me that you’ve… grown up so much.”
“Do you like me less now, Geng?”, Siwon’s eyes are downcast as he contemplates that possibility.
Geng shakes his head and raises Siwon’s face so that their eyes meet, “I’m just getting used to dating a different Siwon… I love you, Siwon, then or now, but I hate to think about how you’ve come to change so much… And everything that must have happened.”
“Do you trust me enough to know that I’m not asking this of you out of impulse?”
“I trust you, Siwon. I’m sure you’ll make a great husband, but about a family… that can wait, right? And I know that when the time comes you will make a great father.”
“So… Is the wedding still on, or can you be my best man now?”, Kangin asks after Siwon finishes his story.
“Kangin!”, Leeteuk snaps disapprovingly at his partner.
“Sorry Teukie. I couldn’t resist.”
“It’s alright, hyung. And yes, the wedding is still on.”
“Even if he doesn’t see the possibility of adopting in the near future?”, Leeteuk asks.
“It isn’t about the kids, hyung. I love him, I know he loves me too. Maybe it isn’t the time to think about starting a real family yet. Maybe he isn’t used to having me around, to not have to hold up the fort on his own anymore. But I can prove to him that one day, when he’s ready, that the two of us can be the best fathers… well, second best fathers, seeing what a great job you’re doing with Jongwoon and Ryeowook.”
Kangin smiles at the determined look on Siwon’s face, not too different from when he first knew him a year ago. There is still that childlike hope and belief, but just a little more weariness now and a certain jadedness about life that has found its way into his soul. And inside, he makes a silent wish that Hankyung one day comes to see just how dependable the shoulders of this man are.
If he thought Geng was beautiful before, today really took the cake. His mother had somehow managed to rustle out the old wedding suits his father had worn when they got married, and though their didn’t fit as well as tailored ones, Siwon had to admit that Geng really filled out the suit well. A nip here, a tuck there, and under Han-Mama’s skillful hands and needles their matching suits - one black, the other white, sat upon their frames perfectly. The two were well-formed men, and together they made a pair of dashing grooms - only now, there was no bride.
Kangin and Leeteuk held the hands of their little boys, dressed identically and each wearing a shy smile, as though knowing the significance of the occasion. It must have been quite a sight to take in. Two grooms in black, two in the purest white, and two sweet children bearing rings.
Kyuhyun’s fingers closed around Zhoumi’s as they sat, side by side, with the parents of the grooms. He wondered if the two of them would last long enough to finally decide to get married, and smiled as he began to make plans - about who to invite, what to wear, where they would hold their wedding… Almost missing the whispered vows as each black and white pair slipped the rings on each other’s fingers.
There was no pronouncement of “man and wife”, nor rowdy cheers as it was announced that the grooms could now kiss. Each one only looked at each other in mutual understanding, whispering “I do” to sickness and health, poverty and in wealth, to have and to hold, and making the promise to see each other through life and till death.
They were now married. Not lawfully wedded. But married.
“Kuixian, if there was a bouquet, would you catch it for me?”
Kyuhyun could only nod, dumbstruck as to the fact that Zhoumi could read his thoughts so perfectly.
“We’ve gone and done it now, haven’t we?”, Geng gives a slight laugh as Siwon bites his neck softly, “We’re married.”
“Yeah. You’re a caged bird now.”, Siwon teases as he unbuttons Geng’s shirt, pulling it off in one swift motion and throwing it on the floor, “And you’re wearing too much.”
“Careful!”, Geng chides, “You don’t want to ruin your dad’s shirt… Siwon!” Geng gasps as his pants come off too and he feels the cool air against his bared thighs.
“I don’t remember you having this much to say.”, Siwon grins.
“But I remember someone being clumsy enough to knock over something or wake someone up every time.”
“I’ll be careful today.”, Siwon hurriedly takes off his shirt, only to be answered with a loud R….IIIIIIPPPPPPPP, “Oops.”
“Well done Siwon. You managed to tear your dad’s shirt.”
“What he doesn’t know won’t kill him. We’ll get rid of it tomorrow, now… back to business.”
With a soft cry Geng feels Siwon lips upon his front, tenderly caressing the sensitive skin and sucking the tip. Geng’s hands find themselves fisting Siwon’s now disheveled hair, the pleasurable sensations coursing through him as Geng tastes sweet relief for the first time that night..
“Oh God, Siwon I don’t even want to know how you’ve been practicing to get this good”, Geng thinks.
“Been some time for you, Geng?”, Siwon looks up with traces of white liquid upon his lips. Geng looks away in embarrassment.
“Shut up…”, he is silenced by Siwon’s lips crashing upon his, the sweetness of his lips a sharp contrast to the salty remnants upon them, “Mmm”
He feels Siwon’s fingers at his entrance and he moves to allow Siwon greater access by spreading his legs, purring contentedly, “It’s gonna hurt, Geng, just… bear with it for a while, okay?”, Siwon says as he breaks away from the kiss momentarily.
“That depends on how you make the hurt better.”, Geng whispers as he pulls Siwon’s face towards his own to lock their lips once again.
Two fingers quickly turn into three, then four, and Geng feels something much larger pushing against him now. He draws in a deep breath and almost screams as Siwon enters him, his entire length shafted in at once. But Geng settles for biting Siwon’s shoulder instead, hard.
“You alright?”, Siwon asks, the pain on his shoulder registering as a sensation of pleasure.
“Yeah... Now I left a scar too…”, Geng gasps and chokes out a shaky reply in a mixture of broken Korean and Chinese, but Siwon understands the possessiveness that seeps through that statement and moves, edging gently at first.
“I’ll always be yours, Geng. You’re the only one who can mark me from now on…”, Siwon says in Geng’s ear as they move faster, thrusting against each other, conversation giving way to muffled moans of pleasure as they both come, hard and fast.
Geng nuzzles against Siwon’s neck as the younger man pulls him into a protective one-armed hug upon their shared bed. They are both exhausted from the many times that they’ve lost themselves to ecstasy, yet neither can fall asleep yet on their special night.
“I will remember today forever, Siwon.”
Siwon smiles and ruffles the older man’s hair, “I will too, Geng. And every single day after today, because I’m right where I belong. With you. It’s been too long, Geng, and I’m finally home with you.”
“Why are you so full of optimism, Siwon?”, Geng laughs.
“I found you, and you waited for me. That’s reason enough to be happy.”
“Do you think Kangin and Teukie will be happy too?”
“I think they will. I sincerely hope they will. They deserve it, after all that they’ve been through.”
“I think so too Siwon. I’m glad they have each other. And I’m glad I have the rest of my life to have you to myself.”, Geng murmurs as he feels drowsiness coming upon him gradually.
“I love you Geng.”, Siwon kisses his forehead, and the two drift off into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
