AM I A SWITCH?chipley47November 3 2006, 17:09:10 UTC
This a very difficult and involved question. Assuming somehow I am a switch, then there are many questions to answer....
Am I single pole single throw or double pole single throw or double pole double throw? What is my Current and Voltage rating? Am I UL Tested and Approved? Are my contacts silver, gold or mercury wetted and how many million operations can they withstand? Am I designed for toggling, maintained, or emergency stop? Am I Make-before-Break or Break-before-Make? Am I ergonomically designed? Am I complete with control reliable redundant circuitry? Am I rated for use by the International Electrotechnical Commission?
And the most important question of all, what am I switching to?
