A.) [Action: Around the town. Sasaki is currently droned. She hasn't actually been droned before, but she's been like this for a couple weeks. It's probably a little disturbing seeing her emote in a -- relatively -- regular way. Her speech is still strangely formal, but -- different ( Read more... )

Ah, that makes me wonder... what would Sasaki-san define as "ordinary"?

Well, that is precisely the question. I think the heart of the matter is, to the average resident of your world, would you -- assuming they knew what you were -- be considered extraordinary?

Ah, that's an interesting question... hm. My existence, in itself, is not something extraordinary in my world- beings such as us, nations, aren't necessary unusual, given how many of us exist, and always have... but most humans aren't directly aware of us. It depends, really. But I think that, most of the time, the answer to that would be "yes".

Yes, a great deal of you seem to exist. [More than she probably would like.]

I see. Yes, I agree with that. I believe that fairly few people here would not fall in to that category. Which is a surprising semi-paradox, so to speak.

That depends on what you mean by ordinary, right? You could say I'm ordinary in the sense that I'm an expected part of my world, or that because of what I am I reflect the ordinary of my people at least a bit, but if you define a base human as ordinary then I'm not.

Are you alright, Miss Sasaki? You seem distracted.

My definition of ordinary at the moment is if the average denizen -- or if you prefer more specificity, ...a simple random sample of citizens-- would fit into... I'm sorry, if you would not be an outlier in such a group. In terms of powers, perhaps; or in terms of social capital, talents, et cetera...

Yes. Maybe I am. I seem to have just recovered from a droning.

Oh, well I suppose I can't say welcome back, but...

I think normal depends on your perspective. Can you say anyone here is normal for this world? Even a regular person brought to Mayfield shouldn't be here.

Not normal for this world, which indeed we have no way of ascertaining -- unless it means a drone -- but normal for their own world.
