Hell, I wanted to kill Desdemona.

So, I recently read in Entertainment Weekly that Disney has greenlit an Adventures in Babysitting remake starring Raven Symone. And all I have to say is no. No no no no no, a thousand times NO. Adventures in Babysitting is a classic; I must have watched it fifty times when I was a kid. Elisabeth Shue and her glorious '80s hair were perfect. I hate ( Read more... )

I would be, if I actually knew any such people

Kathryn Worzel?

I had somehow blocked that from my memory. Thanks so much for reminding me! Just don't tell me her favorite play is Twelfth Night, or it will be tainted just like my former favorite word (and her favorite), facetious.

(I'm half-joking. I think most of my Kathryn-related hostility has dissipated. Most.)

1. Chad Michael Murray. Lohan in Freaky Friday and Duff in A Cinderella Story. I hate Chad Michael Murray. I loathe him. Yet I've seen both of those movies and watch One Tree Hill near religiously. But that last one is mostly for Sophia Bush.

2. Rachael McAdams is a natural blonde and played one in Mean Girls and The Hot Chick, though I prefer her brunette. The Red in The Notebook was okay.

3. Undiscovered! Where Ashlee Simpson was supposed to be a lesbian and the movie would have made a LOT more sense. Also that dude is not hard on the eyes.

. . .I should join Flixter, huh?

See, you got all three of the answers! What the hell is wrong with all those other people? (The Mean Girls hair was a wig, of course, but you probably knew that. I am pretty sure the Hot Chick hair is natural, but yeah, that's the right color anyway.)

You and Sophia Bush, man. I'd think about mocking you, but hey, I like Mischa Barton. Are you going to see John Tucker Must Die?

I AGREE, RANDOM PERSON THAT I DO NOT KNOW. For if two random people who have never talked before ever but are both super awesome love Sophia Bush, IT MUST MEAN THAT HER AWESOMENESS IS NOT UP FOR QUESTIONING.

I feel that's valid.

I occassionally read Shakespeare for fun, but I don't quote him obsessively or anything. I don't read him so much for the stories (which are, as you say, mostly recycled) but for his amazing facility with the language (which I find no less impressive for his lack of formal training or his populist audience).

Yeah, there are some excellent speeches in there. I like Twelfth Night so much because Viola/Cesario's dialogue is so clever, especially when she's bantering with Olivia.

Definitely see it! As a boy, she's hilarious (she sounds like a little white boy who thinks he's black), and as a girl, she's totally endearing. There were so many moments that made me laugh. It was much better than I expected. But of course, I have a total soft spot for all teen movies -- the good, the bad, and the cheesy.

You should watch her MTV Diary! NOT THAT I HAVE. (It was the only thing on!)

She hangs out with her Grandma all day and balks at $10 for a carwash, and talks about how she takes her Grandma out dancing. Then she and her Grandma dance in the middle of a 7-11 to the Muzak. It kind of made me totally fucking love her appreciate her more.

WORD to the AIB remake. I don't think I've ever actually seen the movie unedited, but I can't stand fucking Raven either.

I do not hate Shakespeare. I quite like him. Perhaps love in that "I must love him for, lo, I am English major" way. Also, I can tell you've been reading EW because they had that list of movies based on classics. I haven't seen Get Over It, but I really liked O. I also really, really liked the deleted scenes on the DVD because the commentary was very enlightening on the reasons the scenes were cut out. It wasn't your usual, "It didn't work, so we cut it" or "We ran long, so we cut it."

I enjoyed the first two FD movies but haven't seen the third, but the Choose Your Own Adventure feature sounds like a lot of fun.

I don't know the answers to any of your trivia questions.

Sorry about the job woes.

Hey dude, EW has been stalking me, because I made a list of my favorite teen movies based on classic works of literature before their magazine with a similar list even showed up at my house! I watched She's the Man and got inspired. I'm just so lazy when it comes to writing LJ entries that I didn't include it til now. But yeah, I love EW... they seem to enjoy a lot of the same things I do.

I remember Get Over It as being dumb but fun, but I'll get back to you after I watch it again. I remembered Whatever it Takes the same way, but when I watched it last night, I was disappointed.
