Lately I've been feeling like I completely disagree with everything everybody says about TV ever. Seriously. For example, if I hate an episode of something and everybody on LJ loves it, I go to TWoP because everybody there hates everything and I should find lots of fun ranting, right? Wrong! They all love it, too! And when I actually like something ( Read more... )

Definitely with you on some of it. A lot of it I don't watch anyway so I don't know.

Lost I tired of even in season 1 because it was so slow and just trying to eke things out over a ridiculously long time. It was dull, bad characterisation and lazy story-writing. I just couldn't be bothered to get involved.

The OC used to be one of my favourite shows but it needed Marissa to keep it working. I didn't always like her (I think it was in season one or two I counted that there wasn't a single episode she hadn't cried in), but she was an important character and the other characters don't work so well without her. It's good that it's going.

I used to love Summer as well but these days Rachel Bilson looks like a lollipop. It's just too weird and I'm tired of her. It's funny how people who have great chemistry off-screen often have no chemistry on-screen, but Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson were a huge exception to that rule. Now they're no longer together they seem to have no on-screen chemistry at all.

You have beautiful animals.

Yeah, say what you will about Marissa, but she was a better character (and girlfriend) than Taylor Townsend. Remember in season one when Marisa fell in love with Ryan? She said so. She said "I love you" all spontaneously and he didn't say it back, and she was hurt but she exited the poolhouse as gracefully as she could. And he later raced to Oliver's New Year's Eve party just in time to kiss her and tell her he loved her of his own volition -- no scheming was necessary on her part. Man, I miss season one.

I don't like Scrubs, either!

And I agree that Lost can be pretty boring and uneven. The mediocre or bad episodes outrank the great ones, I'd say.

I think the problem with Lost is that it hasn't really had standalone episodes in ages (if ever), and I need standalone episodes to break up a show so it doesn't feel like one really long, boring episode to me. Buffy season seven had the same problem -- I couldn't tell you the plot of any one episode because they all run together for me in this lump of slayers-in-training and Buffy being a jerk and getting her ass kicked by the First Evil.

I love Lost, but I have been kind of like "oh, come ON!" lately.

However, you made my soul hurt by not liking Scrubs. :(

I'm sorry! I used to love it. I still think the third-season episode "My Screw Up" (the one with Brendan Fraser) is brilliant.

Scrubs is not as good as it used to be, sure. But last week's (and the musical one) certainly didn't "suck." But since you're not watching, you wouldn't know that. ;) But I HATED that backpack thing SO MUCH. Bill Lawrence (the creator of the show) actually did an interview where he talked about how sometimes they go overboard with the fantasy creeping into real life and they have to be careful (and specifically mentioned the backpack scene). WORD. But I can only think of maybe a handful of times when I really thought they went overboard.

Logan can go away any time. I totally agree with that. I'm actually MOSTLY enjoying VM. It's the eps with Logan and Veronica fighting that bore me. Unfortunately, that's been a few too many this season.

Lost has sucked since Boone died, which was the middle of season 1. :P

Jessica's okay, it's Niki I have the problem with. Too whiny.

Your doggie is so cute! The cats are cute too, but I'm not a cat person.

I don't find songs about poo the least bit funny and I think the Turk/JD "guy love" joke has been run into the ground, so I doubt the musical would have changed my mind. ;) I watched all of last season because I hate giving up on shows I once loved, but it just lost me -- it's way too manic and has too many fantasy scenes in general. The backpack was the worst (that and... didn't JD fall into a really deep puddle in the parking lot?), but they all started to irritate me after a while.

Yeah, there were a few episodes at the beginning of last season where I was like WUH? to those fantasy things that seemed like they weren't supposed to be fantasies.

OK, I didn't like the poo thing either, but I just ignored that one. But the guy love thing WAS hysterical. It wasn't just the words to the song, it was their expressions...but I know you're not usually a big slash fan, so... ;)

Let's see. I'm with you on...Number 1. That's pretty much it. Well, I wouldn't care whether Dean and Jo hooked up or not. Maybe a bit of Number 3, in that I probably would not have noticed that the Palladinos left if I didn't know.

It kind of amuses me that you and I always seem to have the opposite reaction to any given episode of Veronica Mars (maybe not back in season one, but since then). Every time I really like one, you're kind of "meh" about it, and of course we disagree big time on those finales. ;)

We sure do! Heh. It's very strange. What about this week's? Most people loved it, and I thought it was about three-fourths as awesome as it should have been, but I couldn't figure out why.

I actually haven't seen it yet! I usually record it on Tuesday and watch on Wednesday with my friend (she doesn't get The CW), but she couldn't make it this week and I haven't gotten around to watching yet. I'll let you know, though.
