I haven't updated in forever! Let's talk about some things.

First, the Writers Guild of America strike. I'm with nicole_anell -- the strike is my new fandom. Every day I see great new stuff... like this story about the Grey's cast, this one about showrunners and their fun signs, these videos (especially "The Office is Closed" and "Why We Fight" -- the latter ( Read more... )

Paramore! I love "Misery Business," and I just heard a short acoustic set on the radio that included "Crush Crush Crush." The whole album is good, you say?

I like the new SPN girls too.

The whole album is awesome. I think "Fences" and "Stop This Song" are probably my favorites right now (aside from the singles, "Misery Business" and "CrushCrushCrush"). I also like "For A Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic" -- that is an awesome title.

I just watched tonight's Supernatural. I love Bela! And Dean. And their witty banter. Anyone who didn't love that scene where he comes down in the tux has no sense of humor at all.

I cracked up at "When this is all over, we should have angry sex." It's like they're reading the boards!

It's great because there is so much news about it, every day. And all of the actors, directors, and writers (of course) that I admire most support the WGA.

The LJ community wga_supporters is also cool, but I disagree with some of the stuff in their mission statement
Just for the record, they agree with you. I didn't really see anything anti-reality in their "mission statement" in the profile, so I was a little confused about what you weren't happy about at first. I've seen a few comments scattered that are trying to clarify this position on reality shows: watch what you watch, but DON'T watch the replacement shows.

Hm, yeah, but they're still saying that if a quality reality show does a season during the strike, airing when, say, Heroes or Grey's would, we should boycott it. I don't see the point in that. I'm going to continue to support quality television, whether it's scripted or unscripted. Supporting a show that was already popular before the strike and that I would like to see continue afterwards is very different from boycotting some crappy dating show they invent and stick in Heroes' slot. THAT I would avoid.

So far, no one from the WGA has said anything about boycotting reality programming -- they want us to avoid downloading from Amazon's Unbox or itunes and to refrain from watching streaming video on network websites. That is a great idea, and one the LJ community should be focusing more on right now.
