I went to a concert last night. The Strokes were playing and the opening act were my good Canadian chums The Most Serene Republic. Let's just say the album sounded better. It seems that with all of these Arts and Crafts bands, the album sounds better. Maybe it's because the instruments are doing so many things and it's hard to recreate live? They ( Read more... )

So Jordan and I saw Stars, and they were very good live. The sound was a little mushy because of the sound system (if I remember correctly), but they were good enough to seel me on their album, which I still listen to 6 months later.

That's cool. I shouldn't have said all of the bands on the Arts and Crafts label? I've seen BSS and MSR and they both were the pits live so maybe Stars is better. Thanks for the feedback though.

It will never be possible to get away from all the mushyness. Just because of all the processors and compression and crap used for records (which I shouldn't call crap because it really does make a huge difference), mushyness live will always always be an issue.

But Stars freaking rocked.
