It has been a very busy week for me, goodness. Work was crazy, we're prepping for a big family Easter party at our house tomorrow, and I bought a new car. A new new car--my first one ever! I had my Jeep Cherokee for 13 years (it was a 1996) and it was at the point where the repairs were increasingly significant and expensive. And since I commute 70 ( Read more... )

I have a few friends who LOVE their Outbacks, and several who have convinced spouses to get the same car so they have 2 in the garage! I hope you enjoy yours.

Yeah, that really stood out to me when reading the reviews. People LOVE their Subarus in general, especially their Outbacks. It's like a cult!

Thanks! And seriously, at least 75% of the cars that had good professional reviews also had 500 customer reviews that were like, "FAULTY SENSOR OMG, costs $400 to replace it, not covered under warranty, CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!!"

Glad to hear that you love your new car! :D I'm kind of surprised that you didn't get a new Jeep. ;) But Outbacks are FUN!

We didn't do anything significant for Easter, but my friends and I had our 3rd annual Fakesgiving celebration on Saturday, so my friend Marie and I cooked for 20 people. It's a potluck, really, but we always do the turkey and ham (plus a million other things) so we were there from 12-6 cooking up a storm. Party hosting is exhausting, but so much fun. :)

I test drove the new Jeep and I liked it, but it was about $7k more than the Subaru and I didn't feel like I'd be getting that much more car for the money, you know?

Party hosting IS exhausting. But totally fun. We love having parties!

Oh definitely...SUV's are so pricey anyway, why spend $7K more if you don't have to? You'll be really happy with your choice I think. And you're just like me...I have to read ALL the customer reviews I can get my hands on, and do hours of research before I buy something that important. I can't imagine people who can just buy a car on a whim. I know these people exist, but it's just so baffling! I can't imagine what will happen if I ever have to buy a house. It'll take YEARS.

And yeah...I wish party planning was an easy career to do lucratively. I'd so be there.

Congratulations!!! I have had FOUR Subarus and I loved them all. I wish I still drove one, but they didn't have a hybrid when we were shopping. Subaru is my auto soulmate.

Everybody I know who's ever had one has waxed nostalgic about them and said it was their favorite car. Makes me feel good about my purchase!
