The older I get, the more vulnerable and terrified I become. How is that the case? I thought as we grow older, become more experienced that confidence and wisdom naturally resulted. Obviously, this is not the case, as my foolish assumptions are proven wrong with each passing day

I'm really glad that you have someone who's challenging you. Regardless of whether or not this evolves into a relationship, this person is a part of your growth as an individual. He's touching you in a way no one who knew you as a child (and let's face it, that's most of us) could.
